There's more than the SPL to consider should liquidation kick in.

EVERY cup final would have at least one non-OF team - the days of "after you Claude" will be over.

Should the other Cheek get a tough draw (unlikely I know) there could even be year after year of different teams winning trophies. And still they say Scottish football will die....

Think of all those empty seats at Hampden in May.

As far as I understand, enough funding was ringfenced to keep the club going until the end of the season in the hope that a buyer could be found. But the whole bidding process has descneded into a fiasco and I believe the players wages are soon to be restored to their previous value.

That can only mean the club will swiftly run out of money and the whole operation will collapse.

Was it a pay temporary pay cut till end of season, or a pay deferral of "X"amount percentage of the wage till the end of the season, I'm sure it was the latter as they believed a buyer would be in place by then

#CRAIG WHYTE was last night on the verge of striking a deal with a wealthy British football consortium.

the businessmen are now front-runners to land Rangers — after US tow-truck tycoon Bill Miller pulled out.

We can reveal majority shareholder Whyte, 41, WILL deal with the consortium, made up of a number of people with experience from clubs in the Premiership.

Sources say they DON’T want to liquidate the club and plan to exit administration through a CVA.

An insider said: “The consortium is being led by football people with experience at the highest level in the game. They’ve serious money and most importantly it looks as though they have the blessing of Whyte.

“Talks took place all yesterday afternoon and things have been moving quite quickly.

“It is understood an agreement with Whyte is 90% in place.

“The people involved know about Rangers and their history and liquidation is not what they want. They want to exit administration through a CVA.

“The most important thing is that is seems Craig Whyte is keen to work with them.”

When Ng walked away, didn't he mention racism and or xenophobia against him and it was looked upon as part of the smokescreen for him never really being serious in the first place?

This sounds all so familiar.

Again the questions have to be asked, why would anyone put money into Rangers before knowing the outcome of the BTC, and why are they so sure they can agree a CVA with the creditors?

If the players agents had been on the ball, most will be able to walk at the end of the season with some sort of package. I wonder if they will soon become creditors to be paid out of the prize money before it reaches the club?

It really is very odd that nothing appears to be transparent. Do we know exactly what fee D+P are demanding? what where the exact promises given to the players?

Why is everything so hidden from the fans and the public?

The only person having had the slightest glimpse behind the curtain has run a mile.

I dont know what the exact deal there was for the replica kits, but was money taken for a certain amount of years ? could that become a debt now?

Really the big tax case is obviously quite a threat and is looking like finishing the club off.

Dunno aboots that, but if Ng had ever looked at the RanjursMedia Loyal, he'd have seen umpteen threads about dog being on the menu instead of pies at halftime.........their nothing if not consistently stupid towards folk trying to save them!

And one more thing - it all seems to have gone quiet from the politicians. Why?

A few months back they were falling over themselves to back this "Scottish institution"

.

Whatever could have changed their minds?

Various politicians made bland statements about Rangers being an institution and being hopeful that the club would not go bust due to the effect on the national economy. In hindsight it would just appear to have been a meaningless soundbite, probably the same sort that they would make about Davie Smith's Underwear Factory if it was in trouble.
