Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

I'll be interested to see the detail of this. Today's Scotsman says it will compel outgoing owners to conduct proper diligence into whether the people they're selling to are fit-n-proper or not. It sounds a good idea - but given someone selling is likely leaving Scottish football, how do you subsequently punish them if they don't do it?!?!

Force them to come back and take over their old team!

Net spend ? bit of a red herring if you ask me as this doesn't allow for:

signing on fee's

loyalty pay offs (when a player is sold at the clubs desire)

Not to mention that the £9m sale of Hutton to Spurs was allegedly a means of writing off a debt to Daniel Levy's company.

that's all true.

but those transfers helped them to 3 in a row which got them £30mish from two CL campaigns. a decent investment imo.

Are you sure? Last time I checked the figures they had just 0ver 20% of the debt. That may have been against D&Ps earlier "projections" though

Baron Greenback has included the BTC in his CVA proposal and why the HMRC has the power alone to block it and he knows it.

He's after a liquidation to buy the newco and make the gers fans pay for his take over :o shockaroony.

And the free move of Andy Webster to Wigan on the basis Rangers would buy him and bring him back to Scotland. Just after the merchandise deal was signed by JJB and Rangers. On loan initially (set up the day after Paul le Quen left) but eventually trasnsferred to Rangers for 'an undisclosed fee'.

from the AGM

The Scottish FA also announced a £4.5m increase in turnover for the year to £32.2m, with one third of turnover issued directly to member clubs, an increase on the previous year, when one quarter of the turnover was allocated to members.

not all clubs surely.

yeah it worked out a treat hence they have no financial issues whatsoever :o

A better way to invest the cash would have been to pay off their debts and live within their means hence avoiding the current clusterfuck...but they chose to in effect spunk the last of the housekeeping money at the casino.....

according to this their net spend was £9 million that summer

you've got to speculate to accumulate though and they did make the group stages of the CL in the two following seasons which they wouldn't have done if they hadn't spent.

turning cuellar into bougherra, mendes and davis was great business.

OK I was wrong they spent well over £18 million then :P but I didn't factor in the players they sold.

But still doesn't exclude the fact they were in HUGE DEBT and trouble was around the corner and didn't prepare for it.

I see they are now planning a pre season jaunt to Germany. Where is this money coming from?

Is this the only administration where no one has lost their job?

People have lost their jobs and wanting to see people losing their jobs is wrong.
