Spokesman says they'll "take time to carefully consider this lengthy and complex judgement." 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
kiddy Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 The claim on BBC's Reporting NorthBritain, mentioned it not affecting Sevco. As "the club was now run by a different company"! What happened then, to the Sevco club that was admitted to Scottish football, whilst oldco's club was being ejected? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Njord Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 soa part from the accounts being terrible and HMRC winning the tax case nothing has really changed then. Your missing king's 3 month suspended sentence in SA and a court date for him on Dec 9th that might see him get jail time... 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
The_Kincardine Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Surely Hector has now been utterly vindicated, and some very meek mea culpas are called for? You make a good point. Two tribunals thought we were right but the CoS, ultimately, determined we weren't. Thus, Rangers got the tax rules wrong and we are guilty as charged. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Njord Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Alex Rae is adamant that when he signed his EBT it was an actual loan that had to be paid back. He declines to reveal when that actual repayment falls due...... 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They're being so very careful about it it's not real, tip toeing around the outside trying not to upset anyone. The radio news on the way home was an absolute shambles. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
flyingrodent Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Of course, rather than squirming & dodging for almost ten years, Sir Dave could've settled this in the mid-2000s by just being honest with HMRC. But then, I suppose that would've created a risk of Rangers getting into financial difficulties. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It also carries an interest burden. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Think I skipped over it too fast, it was to go to any children, then their children etc etc sticks in my mind. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thus, Rangers got the tax rules wrong and we are guilty as charged. Given that Rangers deliberately kept the existence of this scheme from the ruling body, then spent the next decade hurling lawyers at Hector to avoid having to disclose it, I think it's a bit kind to suggest that they only "Got the tax rules wrong". Nonetheless, "we are guilty as charged" is a lot better than expected, so kudos to you. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Big Rider Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 It's Her Majesty and the rest of Great Britain I feel sorry for here. Rangers tax evasion monies could have helped re roof Windsor Castle. Instead the rest of us have had to stump up. Thanks Rangers. You should be Regally stripped of the right to use the descriptor Quintessential as you so obviously are not. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

flyingrodent Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 The Mint offered HMRC a £10M deal. He sure did. HMRC wanted a look at the books though, not a payoff. Today, I think we've found out why Dave preferred the payoff. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The fine, which newco agreed to pay, in order to be allowed to play, as part of the 5 way agreement, for being as you say, guilty as charged. You haven't fucking paid yet. Rangers await panel verdict on outstanding Lord Nimmo Smith EBT fine Vermin FC. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~ Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 The Mint offered HMRC a £10M deal. And they rightly rejected it. The old Rangers cheated. its really that simple, and even if they did survive administration they would have been fucked now having to foot a £45m tax bill 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CityDave Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 So if Rangers are stripped of titles and Cup winning, the adjusted record should be - SPL 2002-03 - Celtic 2004-05 - Celtic 2008-09 - Celtic 2009-10 - Celtic 2010-11 - Celtic Scottish Cup 2001-02 - Celtic 2002-03 - Dundee 2007-08 - Queen of the South 2008-09 - Falkirk League Cup 2001-02 - Ayr Utd 2002-03 - Celtic 2004-05 - Motherwell 2007-08 - Dundee Utd 2009-10 - St. Mirren 2010-11 - Celtic Congratulations to those clubs that play fair to win and win fairly. Rangers 49 titles and died in 2012. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
killienick Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 I'd take titles/cups off them but you can't posthumously award them to others. What about the teams Rangers defeated in the earlier rounds of the cups, they might have won the final instead. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
