carpetmonster
My team in work collect £3 a month from everyone to cover birthdays. Totals £39. They know I like whisky so what did they get for me? 12 yr old Glenfiddich - but not even a full bottle, 500ml. Am I being ungrateful or is that actually a shiter for what you could have got for £30 odd?! Find out who made the purchase and do a jobby in their top drawer for that one mate.
Deefiant
Just had a phone call from the whisky society - tasting session cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. Dundonians clearly not that interested in the drams. I did get an invite to the MD 20/20 tasting event however.
Mr Rational
Was that the one at the Malmaison? Was thinking about booking it as well
killienick
I did get an invite to the MD 20/20 tasting event however. Mmm. This Kiwi variety has distinct undertones of pishy tramp and the subtle hint of old lady feet.

Mr Rational
Yup - cancelled - c***s. Get yerself down to one of the Stramashes in the summer, the numbers are going down every year but you still have around 40 whiskies to try.
invergowrie arab
Yup - cancelled - c***s. It's your own fault. If you had said tickets were available instead of just saying you had acquired them I would have gone.

I'd be seething (but outwardly grateful, of course).

Spain
Had my birthday over the weekend, another one for the collection: Macallan Gold. I vaguely remember drinking large quantities of it at a trade association lunch last year and enjoying it so looking forward to cracking it open.

Lovely stuff.

Le Tout P'ti FC
Back on Islay this week. With our two year-old in tow, we're not able to do many distilleries this year, but I am doing a warehouse demonstration at Lagavulin. Hoping to sample their new 8yo, just released for their 200th birthday this year.

Savage Henry
The dog biscuits should accompany that nicely. I'm interested in how the whisky tastes once it's heated up.
Mr Rational
Ah get it now, it's on the hob. Slow today.... Edit. - they've also raised the price of it to £75 according to my mate, I got it for £50 so feeling slightly smug he forgot to order... welshbairn
You want a high class induction hob for warming a malt anyway, Belling just doesn't do.
D.A.F.C
Tried Glenkinchie last week. Quite nice but lacks the full taste of others, bit watery maybe?
Spain
Or for to save on waste, put it in a slow cooker on medium and you can keep drinking it all night.
bob the tank
My mother's cooker has solid plates and it is a total nightmare to cook on
