philpy
Is that not an Aldi special???I think I maybe clicked on the wrong pic. I only seen the lid of the bottle bag, so it could be the special, it could be the normal one. I'll see when I'm back on Friday.

Quite rich with it being port cask finish, so can’t have too many at once but very nice. The Glen Garrioch is very nice as well.

philpy
Am I f**k. Neat, the best way. My niece got me a nice glass with whisky stones, so I'll use them and get it cracked open when the stones are cold.

Don’t bother with the stones , to prove it , pour 1 , let it sit 20 mins to warm up and open up , then jog another one into a glass with the frozen stones taste them side by side , and as the big lad said in the film ,” there can only be one ... “ that said the stones ones are good for keeping a cider or beer cold , when required Edited December 27, 2019 by bishopburn boy Thick, can’t spell proper , like

There's something to discuss here: optimal drinking temperature for a neat single malt. I'm no expert, merely an enthusiastic learner. But I like my dram room temperature. Too cold diminishes the flavours.
welshbairn
Got given a bottle of Auchentoshan American Oak, which tastes like diesel to my taste buds, so sneaked out for an emergency bottle of Monkey Shoulder and am sitting in blended bliss with the gift giver none the wiser. For people who like to taste all a whisky has to offer then room temp and a few drops of water to taste (If at all) is the way to go. Some just like it with ice and that's alright, it takes the edge off the alcohol if you're not into that. Some even like it with mixer which is right weird behaviour but somewhere in your town there will be people putting ketchup on pasta so best just leave them to it.
