SaltyTON
Vampire in Vegas (2009) I love Jim Wynorski films, you usually find them on the SyFy channel. Always highly entertaining, okay usually with terrible acting, a rotten premise and really bad special effects but they are well worth watching for comedy value! Tony Todd plays a vampire that is running for political office, but needs a serum to make him able to walk in the sun. He also runs a back-alley pole dancing club where he turns unsuspecting victims into vampires. It's good fun! 6/10

lau03143
The Butterfly Effect Thought the first twenty minutes were quite boring, it took a while to get going, but when it did, it was really good. 6.5/10 I'm going to watch the directors cut version next, so I think it'll be getting a higher score as I'll say more attention to the start of the film.
Satans_Husband
The Thing I'm a big fan of the John Carpenter one so decided to check this out despite my reservations. It actually started out alright and I was quite enjoying it. Unfortunately, once the thing action kicks in, it falls to bits quite badly with the thing behaving in a nonsensical manner. It was at this time that I realised there had been no real characterisation and the people in the base were pretty much cannon fodder that the audience knew little about. It all added up to a boring experience. 5/10

Do not watch the sequels! They are pretty bad! Director of the second hasn't done any more since then (2006) and the guy who did the third hasn't done anything but is now filming something called "$50K and a Call Girl: A Love Story". I think that tells you enough about how good their efforts were...

SaltyTON
Alexander (2004) It's just about watchable, but misses out too much between battles. In the final battle in India, there's a horrible mess of red which made the battle impossible to watch. Jared Leto must pray to Dionysus and Zeus every day, for giving him a major part in this film where he is the only person who could actually act! Farrell is fucking awful, and the accents throughout are ridiculous... why is Jolie Russian? How did Leto get Typhus from drinking water? 5/10
yoda
Broken Flowers I liked the look of this film and it is good in some places but I felt pretty underwhelmed overall. Perhaps I need to give it another watch. Bill Murray does what Bill Murray does best and he's decent enough in it. He plays an "ageing Don Juan" who receives an anonymous letter saying that he has a 19 year old son. So he sets out to visit a few old flames. It is quite poignant in places and funny in others, however it is generally quite uninteresting and the opening half hour or so is incredibly dull. It's not a case of bad acting, the story appears interesting, but it lacks direction and the characters lack depth (although maybe that is intended in some cases). The funniest part - other than Murray - is the part when he meets the second woman. The awkwardness of the entire segment makes it fairly humorous. You do get to see Alexis Dziena's chebs for a couple of scenes so that's a good part of it. Other than that it was executed very poorly by the director but I liked the performances from Murray, Stone and Conroy. 6/10 I also rewatched Bronson a couple of weeks ago and I would probably boost it up to a 7/10. forehead7
Watched Batman Begins last night, really solid. I actually think it's better than the Dark Knight. I prefer Liam Neeson to Heath Ledger and Cillian Murphy to Aaron Eckhart. Not sure how many times I've seen it, definitely up in the 5/6 regions and it's still amazing. 9/10
wunfellaff
Watched ''The Fall'' and i cannot begin to say how good it was. But i will......it was good Best child performance I can remember and just a really great story. Basicaly a wee lass with a broken arm in a 1920's LA hospital gets talking to a suicidal stuntman who has been hurt during a movie, and he regales her with fantastical yarns. Imdb page Please buy/download etc if you like well made films. Worth it. 9/10.
saint dave
It's A Wonderful Life. 9/10 The proper black and white cut. Jimmy Stewart is fantastic and shows a bit of dark side in latter stages of the film. Lionel Barrymore is also excellent as the villain.

SaltyTON
The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) (2011) Filmed in black-and-white this time, but instead of it being a doctor with surgical tools and synaesthesia it's a retard that works in a parking garage with tools he finds in his mother's kitchen. It's a hell of a lot gorier and there's ten people in the centipede this time. Sadly, unlike the first one, the acting is horrendous, there's very little dialogue and there is ABSOLUTELY NO artistic merit whatsoever. It honestly makes A Serbian Film seem like The King's Speech. 1/10 - and it doesn't even deserve that.

paul-r-cfc
Just watched Gran Torino today on the xbox lovefilm thingy. Really enjoyed it. Wasn't what I expected - was expecting a kind of 'Falling Down' type, angry white male get's angry at foreigners type thing. Excellent film and well acted by old man eastwood
