Raith Against The Machine
Ohhhh aye! It was totally out of the blue though, wasn't even expecting it! 635277 Watched it last night. Its a very sudden occurence. Not complaining though Overall film 5/10 Missed the first 10-20 minutes and took me quite a while to understand the film.
StewartyMac
if it wasn't for all the product placement i would've given it a higher mark! It really annoyed me....... 635474 Why did that annoy you? It added a touch of realism to an otherwise far fetched story. I particularly liked the X-Box game they played. I reckon that will be the future of video gaming. The kids in 10-15 years time will have gaming VERY good And I'll still be playing Manic Miner

The story was far fetched, nothing wrong with that. The product placement gave it reality when I was quite happy with the fantasy
StewartyMac
Erm no it added an unneccessary touch of cynical commercialism. I think it's you who is being more cynical. I'd rather more films had proper brand names. I don't really give two hoots whether that means more money to certain firms, that none of my business. I think it can add more realism to a movie.

There is no need for those products to be there, I have never seen such blatant advertising in a film that I can remember. If I want realism I'll go and rent a few Ken Loach films!
bluetooner
From what your saying SJ the film must have been boring that you noticed loads of obvious advertising, as i never in films that have the most obvious (unless it is part of the film) Im with Stewarty on this one, id rather it was obvious what they were playing instead of some non descript box, as it does add realism to the film, even although it was a fantasy film. IT makes it much more beleivable, and to me what the film needs to make it more enjoyable..... AS for last film, i watched Master and Commander, really enjoyable film. 8/10. (with blatant rum advertising;) )

I'd give it 9. 622517 Please tell me that you are kidding???? The most illogical film I've seen since I watched "The Core", which BTW is hilarious in its complete lack of knowledge of Physics!

Loki
Well i watched The Island and I thought it was a good film. As for it being unrealistic? Are you stupid or something? Its a film, all films are unrealistic! Its not meant to be realistic. The film would have been really shit if they fell to their deaths when that logo dismounted from the Building. Product placements can be annoying but generally missed most of them, I do remmeber the Puma one, Nokia and MSN Search ones though! It was the only way that film would have been funded though, as the actors arent exactly big box office material. Any film with Scarlet Johanson in it is a great film though. She's amazing. 8/10
