Claudia Gentile Posted Thursday at 10:51 Share Posted Thursday at 10:51 He's fast but not sure what else. Good luck to him anyway. Seems a nice lad.
Nat Weederburn Posted Thursday at 11:10 Share Posted Thursday at 11:10 I'll take a signing! Hopefully the lad can kick on, a good age and someone that can hopefully develop over the next couple years.
Raith Against The Machine Posted Thursday at 11:19 Share Posted Thursday at 11:19 Significant downgrade on Josh Edwards, but I suppose that's to be expected. He's been at Championship level for the last couple of seasons, but hasn't been able to claim a starting spot, even in a poor-to-average Rovers side. He'll have developed a bit since then, but I don't know how much good a year on the bench at Firhill will have done him. That Thistle wanted him to return exclusively to be backup to Harry Milne and the Pars have got him (presumably) with the intention of starting him every week quite neatly summarising the gaps in the level of squad building between sides in the division this summer.
Wacky Posted Thursday at 11:21 Share Posted Thursday at 11:21 I know he has been getting mixed reviews on some forums, but maybe the lad will work better in our squad than some others. Here’s hoping he settles in with our lads…….. that’s if he even signs with us.
HoBNob Posted Thursday at 11:27 Share Posted Thursday at 11:27 It was inevitable that any player coming in was going to be a downgrade compared to Edwards. But I can't help but feel he's the 3rd choice, McPake can't play the same system which puts so much emphasis on the wing backs if Ngwenya is going to be the option on the left. A damming indictment on where we are with regards to signings.
Claudia Gentile Posted Thursday at 11:29 Share Posted Thursday at 11:29 He didn't get much actual positional experience at Firhill tbf. Mostly played in front of Harry Milne. As said, a young lad so I'd say scope for improvement. If that will work this season, we'll all just need to find out, I suppose.
Enigma Posted Thursday at 11:35 Share Posted Thursday at 11:35 The best thing about him is the Ngwenya - Tequila song.
da_no_1 Posted Thursday at 11:42 Share Posted Thursday at 11:42 He hasn't signed for Raith so naturally he's sh1te. Welcome to the club Kieran!
CallumPar Posted Thursday at 11:47 Share Posted Thursday at 11:47 I’ll wait until I’ve seen him play at least a few games to judge whether it’s a good signing or not. Even if he hasn’t been great at other teams, it doesn’t mean he’s a poor signing/wont work for us. We’ve all seen so many players look good at some clubs and terrible at others. Sometimes clubs just are/aren’t a good fit for players. McPake will know how he wants us to play and is targeting players to suit that style. Ngwenya is also only 21, so he has a fair bit of development still to come. Hopefully with the right coaching and a system designed to get the best out of him, he can prove to be a good signing.

Not sure we needed a 3rd choice lb tbh. He's a downgrade on Edwards but is young with potential.

In fairness every left back in the league is a downgrade on Edwards.

par-adise Posted Thursday at 12:16 Share Posted Thursday at 12:16 We lost two LBs over summer so I would hope we were bringing in more than one option there. Whether Ngwenya is coming as backup or first choice I guess we'll see.
Danpar Posted Thursday at 12:28 Share Posted Thursday at 12:28 I can’t see us signing another left back so i imagine otoo wil cover ngwenya when injured etc. or we will have a loan who can play that position also. only thing i remember about Ngwenya is that he’s quite quick.
Heaton Posted Thursday at 12:36 Share Posted Thursday at 12:36 Seen plenty players be shit for us then improve the next season at another club in this division...
The Toun Clock Posted Thursday at 12:37 Share Posted Thursday at 12:37 I don't know much about the lad, but the fact he's played for both Raith and Thistle in this division makes me think he'll be coming in to play as opposed to backup. Will reserve judgement until he's had a chance to settle in.
Rob1885 Posted Thursday at 12:53 Share Posted Thursday at 12:53 The amount of players who have looked utter shite in a dunfermline top to then go and make a decent fist of it at other championship teams means the reviews don't concern me at the minute. Loans are completely different to permanent signings for both player and club as well.
Wacky Posted Thursday at 13:55 Share Posted Thursday at 13:55 Strips seem a bit expensive. I wonder if this is this on par with other clubs in the league?
Stellaboz Posted Thursday at 13:57 Share Posted Thursday at 13:57 Are they? I mind tops being 40 quid years ago. Compared to the price of some of thr top clubs, our prices aren't that bad.
