mozam76
Getting the fear at even the PROSPECT of missing this. I was there for Subcrawl 2 (Birth of the Puddledrinker), and oh what a day. I’ll be there @StewartyMac

HoBNob
Is that not just after the Spain v Scotland game? I reckon I'll still be dying from a particularly nasty hangover that weekend.
StewartyMac
Right, a wee thread bump, and a reminder that this year's event is on Saturday 14th October. There are two start times for this. The official start time is 12 Noon at the Times Square pub at St Enochs, but all the cool cats (plus me) will be starting at 11am at Dows next to Queen St Station. There's next to no chance of any of us finishing it, especially the original crew as we're all too auld now, but it should be a decent day nonetheless.

Ah, but as hardened Subcrawlers will attest, the Southside puddles are actually the best puddles on the crawl.

Pish, I was 52 when I did it 7 years ago, not only did the 15 stops (Lord Nelson was still open) but did an extra at Kinning Park (Grapes and District) but when I finished I went back to my local in Paisley and had another 4 pints.

It was with one of my mates who's a nurse and his workmates. Some of the nurses were doing a different drink in every pub, as you can imagine there were numerous casualties along the way.

Arch Stanton
IIRC the stops were... Dow's, Imperial, Laurieston, Lord Nelson, Manhattan (now a Pepe's), Grapes, District, Kensington, Louden, Brechin's, Stumps, Lismore, Curlers, Doublet, Castle Vaults and Jackson's. As has been said there's f**k all now for West St and for Shields Rd you've got a bit of a trek to PRW and back.
