Derek Patterson
Where is you're Aldi? My local doesn't have these. Got these from the Erskine store. They're not beside the normal crisps though, was a section with Halloween themed snacks so be best checking with staff.
Derek Patterson
Brewmeister - Pump'd (6%) A festive pumpkin ale from Aldi. Nicer than expected. Actually reminds me slightly of the Anchor Christmas beer what with the slight spice to it. Wouldn't rush to pick up more but worth a try for £1.49.

Brewmeister are just a poor man's BrewDog who saw their success in Ellon and attempted to recreate it in Keith. Speyside Brewery at Mulben just down the road is another story however (although I appreciate the real ale vs craft beer difference there).
Derek Patterson
Aye, first time I saw them it was pretty obvious. Always wondered if it was a disgruntled former Brewdog employee or something. This stuff is genuinely alright though tbh.
Hedgecutter
Aye, fair enough. Sounds a bit harsh and unfair upon reflection. The general point still stands though. Would be great to see them up their game, expand to the benefit of the local economy etc, just as Six Degrees North have managed with their rapid expansion down at Laurencekirk off the back of the craze which BrewDog seem to have kicked off. The competition seems to have helped rather than hinder them, especially with Aberdeen now having a popular 'craft beer quarter' with Bottle Cap Brewery also cashing in. Not seen anything from the latter outside of that brewery-bar yet though. Edited October 10, 2015 by Hedgecutter
Derek Patterson
The silly names and generally trying to be edgy is blatant as feck. Obviously the marketing thing is working as I've seen their stuff in Aldi pretty regularly, that said I'm not sure how the other beers compare.
Derek Patterson
Williams Bros - Redact (4.4%) Getting cherry/dark berry aromas and maybe some toffee/caramel. Taste is a decent lager but with a dark sweetness to it. Quite mellow but nice enough.
carpetmonster
Don't know if I'm happy with that glass. Mmm. It's a bit Abigail's Party innit.
Derek Patterson
Tryst - Vanilla Fudge Porter (4.4%) Aromas of fudge and maybe candy floss and whatever yeast it is that's peculiar to all the Tryst beers I've had. Tastes lighter than it looks. Very faint smokiness with some hints of vanilla. Not Tryst's best but still very drinkable.

Hillonearth
Tried Black Metal Brewery's Yggdrasil IPA last night - picked it up for for a laugh and thought it would just be a gimmick given the label and the fact that it's 6.6% (why not 6.66%?), but it's actually well worth trying...
Bearwithme
Had some Dark Star Green Hopped IPA last night. Very good. Plus some more excellent Oakham Green Devil IPA. Edited October 11, 2015 by Bearwithme
Derek Patterson
Braw tin of I&G in the Vale. Had this before on tap and thought it was nice enough but nothing special. Oddly enough it's better in a can. Nice oatiness to it but still very refreshing.
TheLip69
Was at the Black Dog in Manchester last week, was a bit disappointed with the ales they had on. Had a few pints of Meantime London Pale Ale, not bad but I would have expected better for £4.60 a pint. The only other Ale was bottled, Stevens Point IPA, a U.S. beer, really tasty with a decent kick. Pretty sure the Abv was 5.5 but had a few of them so can't be certain.
TheLip69
Arrived in Motherwell early this morning, got my ticket for Fir Park tomorrow, and picked up a few beers from Aldi for tonight.
Hedgecutter
My new local just 20m from my desk (as the crow flies) is doing Edinburgh Castle on tap (or pump, whatever). It's perilously good. Noticed that bottles of it have popping up along supermarket shelves the last few months too. Had never even heard of it* before then. *The beer, not the actual castle. Been there, ripped off entry fee, got the magnet etc.
kerrdavidson95
Anyone sampled Pavlov's Dog? Is it any good? Need to head down to Aldi's tomorrow on the coupon run to pick a few Williams Bro's tipples up for after the football.

Had to be the McEwans version or nothing at all.

The best Williams Ale, currently, is Perfect Storm, don't miss this. Enjoy.
