Because you can't see mental illness does not mean It's something to take the piss out of. Ho hum. I saw my psychiatrist today as a check up after my med changes. Looks like I'm in the middle of an hypomanic stage... They can be rather enjoyable, but It's watching to see If you go into a deep depression afterwards or into a full-blown manic episode. They don't, exactly. Not all depressed people commit or even attempt suicide. Not all those that commit or attempt suicide are depressed. The two can be mutually exclusive. They would be and I know of some who have lost people through suicide reading that post/s. I don't really understand what you're saying here but I'll do my best to decode it. I'm not sure what you mean by "talking to you through Pete". I responded to something you said that I felt to be incorrect and misleading. I did read that article you posted but, as it's an opinion piece, it lacks any real validity - which is probably good for you as it doesn't confirm what you said, it just points out that the anonymity of the internet brings out the troll in people. If anything, it mentions my point - it's not linking suicide and depression intrinsically. It relates more to stress and suicide if anything, which is probably more accurate. I'm struggling a bit This week with that coming back to my mind as well. Thats why its not there anymore I understand your reasoning for that but surely, if that's the case, a thread wishing for famous people to die in order to score points is bad taste and therefore, not suitable either? There was a thread a few years back where people discussed the ways in which they would like to die and people mentioned things like a hail of bullets and being loaded up on painkillers. I don't remember that being considered poor taste. The only real difference is that one specifically mentioned suicide, the other didn't in the thread title but it was contained within the comments on it. Seems to be a lot of "we must be serious about this because it's serious" but who's to say that someone making a joke on there hasn't been through a lot worse than most and finds having a wee laugh about the subject a way of helping them through it?
