KeeperDee
For someone who moans about how people react to on here, you are acting like a bellend Not really. It's not advisable to come into a depression thread and come out with "Live life" at the end of a post like it's some sort of inspirational catchphrase. It's really not.
Aufc
Not really. It's not advisable to come into a depression thread and come out with "Live life" at the end of a post like it's some sort of inspirational catchphrase. It's really not. Who said it was? As he said several times, he didnt say it towards any particular individual. You have jumped on something for no reason and provided some mock outrage. Each to their own

KeeperDee
Why make something out of it? Thought this was a thread to help and to try and teach and share? I'll pm you.

Marshmallo
If it wasn't aimed at anyone, why come out with it? I've read the last couple of pages back and I actually agree with everything you've said but there's no need to make an issue of a little statement like that. -

Marshmallo
It was the nonchalance of it that's riled me. I can understand why it has annoyed you. But I'd suggest he got put on the backfoot by a hugely negative reaction to his initial posts and was a bit flustered by that so tried to defuse the situation in a manner that wasn't correct. -

fafc1885
I think the best thing to do here is stop the debating and draw a line under it all, otherwise this is ruining a very good thread.

Sergeant Wilson
This is why specialists are needed. Gman and Mrs need help but cannot articulate or access support. Given his obvious family history, I'm not sure why not. Alarm bells are ringing. If you couldn't take the issues out of his 1st post you'd need to be a far bigger idiot than he is. His life, as detailed by him would destroy some of you. He gets on and gets better. There are genuine cases on here and he's one, but there are also some soppy malingerers.
KeeperDee
Got to say that after a relatively eye opening private conversation with Gman, I can appreciate and understand what he meant with the "Live life" post. Shame on me for getting riled without understanding the context.

I agree. People please take your bickering elsewhere. Ever since that maggot Reynard posted his patronising drivel the thread has been ruined. This is a serious issue that is being discussed on here that is hopefully helping someone. Sometimes just talking about how you feel can can be the best healer. If I was new to the forum then I certainly wouldn't be posting my feelings on here. Rememember this isn't a football thread etc. This thread can affect someones life and up until now it has been fantastic.

ayrmad
Please please don't let , what is one if the best threads ever on P&B get detailed by ignorance Well said. The only thing I'll point out from an ignorant standpoint is that medication is used too freely and group discussions among peers is underestimated.
Theo Snelders
Well said. The only thing I'll point out from an ignorant standpoint is that medication is used too freely and group discussions among peers is underestimated. Not ignorant at all. Talking therapies, be it 1:1 or in a group help many without having to resort to medication. Waiting times are horrendous though- down this neck of the woods 12 months is not uncommon. Guess I tend to talk medication as a default position given the hospital setting and severly unwell men I work with. Holistic approaches are the gold standard. PS Jogabonito- I should have asked you yesterday, was there any services in Scotland you particularly wanted to know about?
