albundy
I couldn't even tell you what he looks like tbh. Frank Meade's photo on the club site has a father jack sort of look about it.
sons'r'us
I met both at hospitality briefly and they seemed decent enough. Les Hope in particular I dealt with when paying for my hospitality over the phone and he has a much friendlier way about him than our previous chairman. Whether that makes him any good at chairman remains to be seen. I would hope, however that the club's public image may improve with a friendlier chairman. No offence to Alan Jardine but he sometimes came across as a little hostile.

Skyline Drifter
Frank Meade is a great guy. Dealt with him a fair bit over the years, mainly when he was with Albion Rovers.
Howlin' Wilf
I know both Les and Frank pretty well. I first got to know Frank when he was chair at Albion Rovers and enjoyed his hospitality on a couple of occasions. Les has a decent knowledge of fitba' and is a personable guy. I have sought his advice a couple of times in business and he certainly has plenty knowledge in that respect. Both guys I would say, have decent people skills. I wish them both well in their new roles.

I'd reckon 90% of our support didn't have a fucking clue who he is or what he looks like (before this announcement) despite him being on the board since the 14/15 season. I hope both Les and Frank do a grand job, I really do, but I fail to see why we need a Chairman and a CEO. What exactly is the role of a CEO at a club like Dumbarton? A Chairman is there to chair meetings and ensure the board reaches a consensus on decisions, the Commercial Director is there to run the Commercial side, we have a receptionist that handles all enquiries throughout the 3 days our club is open, what exactly will Frank be doing? Will he be taking a wage? I'll reserve judgement for now but I can't say I hold out any hope (excuse the pun) of things being more friendly, welcoming or transparent in light of these appointments. Looks like a chance missed to shake things up properly IMO.

There's hardly a queue of folk waiting to get involved in football clubs, so let's not jump to disrespect two who have in Les Hope and Frank Meade. Like Wilf I have some knowledge of both guys and I share his opinion. I doubt very much whether either guy will be taking a wage; where Frank is concerned he is a qualified accountant and I would therefore anticipate a vital oversight brief in his CEO role, although I agree the title is a mite overblown. As to the future workings and effectiveness of the DFC well now we really are in uncharted territory. Brabco hold the title deeds to a rapidly decaying asset having little residual value, whilst their yellow brick road has never looked more than a potholed cycle path. Interesting and challenging times ahead, let's make the most of every season.

Bring Back Paddy Flannery
When you say 'rapidly decaying' what exactly do you mean? Probably the fact the stadium is being left to rot, with zero investment being made to maintain it. It requires work to the pitch and the floodlights, and of course the whole place is needing a right good scrub and some TLC.All the more reason to move to a new shiny one on the Renton Road eh?
O'Kelly Isley III
When you say 'rapidly decaying' what exactly do you mean? Just that - a six figure sum is needed to maintain the asset and systems from falling into disrepair and further non-conformance.

Little bit of exaggeration no when it comes to the ground, no? 100% agree the floodlights need work. I wouldn't say the pitch is terrible, its no bowling green but I've seen a lot worse pitches that teams play on. Don't know where you sit but I'm near the centre and yes its not clean concrete but don't feel like I'm siting in dirt. The supporters bar and concourse seem fine as well. Lastly our match day experience is rated highly by most people. If the place was falling apart people surely would be rating it so high?

These require a large investment to bring them up to standard. That's a fact, unfortunately. The dip in the pitch is the issue, not the grass itself. This also can't be far from falling foul of the regulations. Again this costs a lot of money to sort.In terms of cleanlieness the exterior requires work. The roof, the side of the stand, all around the pitch etc. Where punters mince around is fine but these other areas of the stadium will only become worse the longer they are ignored.

I appreciate the weather conditions will have played a major part, but I've never seen it looking so poor. During the Ayr 2-2 game and the Raith 4-0 game there were times where it looked downright unplayable. I'd love Brabco/DFC to come out with a list of what needs done, I'm sure some fans would be happy to help out with any general tasks (cleaning seats and steps etc) and I'd imagine we might have a few skilled fans willing to help out with the more specialist stuff. Until we know what needs done however, we won't know if there's any way we could help get it done cheaper.

I suppose it's my definition of "approachable" which differs from some here. I would say someone who makes themselves available to fans frequently (and at convenient times) is approachable. Currently we only have 1 director who acts in such a manner, to speak to the rest you need to either fork out for hospitality and hope they're at your table or know them personally. Agree on all other points, I'd be interested to know Les' feelings towards our owners.

Bring Back Paddy Flannery
Our new walk up price is 20 quid, with all ticket matches being priced at 22 quid.Is it just me or is that fuckin howling? I understand football as a whole is overpriced in this country but f**k me, 20 quid!? I know it's only up 2 quid from last year but with these new prices that must be one of the most expensive in the league. If I was a fairweather fan I'd laugh at the prospect of paying that to watch us.Early bird season tickets are 260 this year, what were they last year?
