~~~ Posted July 21, 2015 Share Posted July 21, 2015 It's ridiculous this hasn't even been in parliament. It won't change until a politician has the balls to have a grown up discussion about drugs. Unfortunately similar to the alcoholic at football ban, politicians won't touch it due to mob rule, 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
OFFS DUNDEE!! Posted July 21, 2015 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Just get in the 21st century. Legalise it, tax it and let people decide if it's for them. Alcohol/ sugar / Frazzels and 1 Direction are the bad buggers. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
It won't change until a politician has the balls to have a grown up discussion about drugs. Unfortunately similar to the alcoholic at football ban, politicians won't touch it due to mob rule, The last person to speak out about the government's draconian drug legislation was murdered, so don't be expecting an MP to have the balls to do so. Mhairi Black is probably about the only one who would. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
effeffsee_the2nd Posted July 21, 2015 Share Posted July 21, 2015 there was also the time when they paid a consulatant ( i think , an experienced profesional anyway) at great expense to review the drug policy, they then sacked him when he didnt tell them what they wanted to hear. next time they should advertise the position "yes man wanted" ffs. a few years ago i was sure think by now a few more places would have legalised/decriminalised it but AMERICA? that came straight out of left field! unfortunately i cant see any of that happening here, we are going down the prohibition route on everything. i cant see the snp doing anythin different here either, not when their national police force baby goes to shut down nightclubs becuase people get high before they go. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Not really, their laws have always given their citizens more rights than our laws. (Right to bear arms for example) -1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mr Bairn Posted July 21, 2015 Share Posted July 21, 2015 I think it's only a couple of American states that have legalised and that was down to local referenda. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
At least this is a start. If I was allowed to grow my own and use it for personal use, I 100% would. It's not ideal but if this is registered as a success, crime rates go down, it might be something more places will be willing to do, which would hopefully be a stepping stone towards legalisation. It seems like the world as a whole is becoming more open to the idea, but like others have said, it would be great if politicians felt like they would be able to talk about it more freely. It's good that organisations such as CISTA are able to express their beliefs though and maybe that will go some way towards it. Mr. Bairn, there are some states in the US where it's all completely legal (Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Oregon - I think some places in Maine too), some which are for medicinal uses only and decriminalised, some where it's just decriminalised and some where it's still completely prohibited. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Bigmouth Strikes Again Posted July 22, 2015 Share Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) Legalise it if you can be sure of the quality and supply. Would stop the rise in the use of synthetic cannabinoids and all the associated issues with increased side effects etc. i.e. posting shite on here? PM me and I'll get you sorted with some proper green. Edited July 22, 2015 by Bigmouth Strikes Again 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
