The spoiler-free reviews I've seen bode well. On 26/01/2021 at 13:15, Boghead ranter said: Really enjoying Kirsty Wark's "The years that changed modern Scotland". Interesting content and a decent soundtrack. I've just finished the last episode of this. It was a really interesting look back at how Scotland has changed over the years.

Hope the rest of the series lives up to that first episode. Just finished it mate, thought it was brilliant. It more or less mirrors my young brothers move to London in the mid 80's along with some friends. Not going to ruin the series, but if you want to know how their futures went send me a PM.
Bully Wee Villa
Brilliant series. Won't say much about the final episode but Keeley Hawes is magnificent.
hearthammer
I seem to recall this being mentioned ages ago, but i've just watched Tipping Point where the creepy Ben Shephard kept touching and trying to cuddle the woman finalist after each correct answer. She looked really uncomfortable. Solution, get Warren from There's something About Mary in the final and let the creepy git try touching him more than once. Aye, ah ken it was his ears, but . . . . .
Arch Stanton
Some shitey compliation about Scotland on TV which immediately followed AVFTT. As soon as I heard that talentless harridan Godley's voice I changed channel. BBC Scotland, you just lost a viewer.

BTW, I did the same thing an changed channel.
Archie McSquackle
We saw the last 5 minutes last night after flicking the channels after watching something else. It looked as though they actually had some interesting archive footage there, totally wasted by the voiceovers.
NotThePars
My ma watches that Masked Singer and some of the fucking mental suggestions the judges make for who the singers are. Tom Hardy giving up a gig to do some shite ITV talent show, nae danger.
Boghead ranter
Restless Natives just starting on BBC Scotland. Magnificent. Edit - film's not even 10 minutes old, and we've already got Nanette Newman and Yosser Hughes. Great stuff. What a series. Russell T Davies is an absolute master of his craft and I'll not hear otherwise. Spoiler Fucking hell. Episode 3 left me in bits. What happened to Colin was utterly heartbreaking. Ritchie was an absolute c**t, you're right. Took after his mum.

ICTChris
I'm three episodes into It's A Sin, fantastic so far. That whole time period must have been absolutely terrifying for gay men, who often faced up to this isolated from the normal support networks of family etc and who were ostracised from society at that point. The different reactions you see from the people involved are played so well and naturally, you can understand why some people just avoided thinking about it or rfefused to believe it. It would be hard enough to process something like that when you are 50 let along 20. Andrew Sullivan wrote a piece in the early 90s about what facing up to a tidal wave of death was like for the gay men in New York at that time, It's A Sin reminded me of that - https://newrepublic.com/article/113639/andrew-sullivans-gay-life-gay-death-1990

jimmy boo
Three Men Four Wheels New 10 part motoring series on Discovery Plus. Marino Franchitti and two other blokes take turns at picking a classic/race car which they discuss then MF drives. About 23 minutes per episode but would've been better at double that. A bit too much chat and not enough driving round the track but still worth a watch for petrol heads.
Shandon Par
Watched some of It’s A Sin but couldn’t get beyond the writing being full of modern speech. People didn’t say “So..”, “OMG” or “Like” every few seconds in the 1980s.
