tamthebam
Our old cat, Candy. A big Smudger type her pastimes were eating, mioawing wanting to be fed, occasionally fighting her brother and sitting at the window hissing at garden birds.
Glen Sannox
As you can see in Lothian Cat rescue’s advert, she was meant to be an older cat! That was 7 years ago and she’s still going great!! I think she’s been clocked!

Stellaboz
I absolutely fucking love my cats and pretty much everyone's cat on here too! I'm also slightly inebriated.
Hillonearth
I do wonder about how some pets - cats and dogs - will handle the separation anxiety when "normality" returns after spending so long with their owners being much more present than they normally are. Last weekend I was away down in Ayrshire for my team's game which meant I was out from before ten in the morning till after six - despite that being less than an old-style working day, that counts as a long time out the house by the standards of recent months. When I got back, the missus told me that a few hours in Woody our wee shorthair - who made the decision years ago he was MY cat - had started doing a circuit of all the rooms he could get into, seeing if I was there, having a wee yowl to himself when I wasn't and repeating the same process every half hour or so. Cats being cats, by the time I got back the wee arsehole decided he was in a huff with me and ignored me for the rest of the night.

Is he still fairly young though as our old cat started doing that howling thing when he got old and demented?
Shandon Par
Muffy settled in to his new gaff and has found a supply of mice. The heads of Fife mice appear to be extra tasty.

According to the wife, he was fine the first few hours, but started to get antsy as the day wore on with no sign of me coming back to the point where he started thinking I wasn't!

I think it's because it was me that initially socialised him that he just latched onto me like velcro.. Our two were rescue jobs from the same place - not an abuse case, but more of a neglect thing with some crazy old cat lady collecting them but not really taking care of them from what I understand. I don't think either of them had ever had much real human contact. Jake the big Maine Coon was out the traps within a couple of days, but the wee man took a couple of weeks hiding under the bed or behind a bookcase before he came out - during that period I'd spend a bit of time a couple of times a day just talking to him to get him used to me. Anyway, one night when she was up at her folks' and I was sitting watching something he finally broke cover, hopped up on the couch beside me and he's essentially been like my second shadow ever since.

johnnydun
It is with great sadness that I have to let you all know, after a short illness, Diego has passed away. He was a great cat with a fantastic personality. After all his mischief and scrapes, this was just one fight he couldn't win. I didn't think I could be so attached to a cat, but Diego fair lit up the room. The whole household is gutted and he will be missed enormously.
