Just disappointing we never got a couple of quid off Oldham and transferred him!

He's been available on a free transfer since the end of the season and nobody wanted him. All they'd had to have done was take over his contract. That was the ideal scenario.

It hasn't worked out though, and we've had to pay him to leave.

That'll be the remainder of the transfer budget used up then. Worrying times for the Maureens.

While he won't have been paid the same amount as being kept on for the rest of his contract there is no way he would have gone for nothing. In essence they have paid for a player that will never play for them. Even loaning him out would have cost less!

Cue Dundee to swoop in!

Guaranteed he will have 6 wonder games next year (pre-split)

He fucking loves us. He only went to St Mirren because it's just up the road from his gaff in Port Glasgow and you were offering a good wage.

Cool story.

We certainly weren't under the impression that he grew up "dreaming of playing for St. Mirren".

Scrambling for the affections of Gary fucking Harkins.

Aye, big time club, right enough.

It really says a lot about Dundee and the standard of player they've had there that a lazy dud like Harkins is held in such high regard by them.

Magical things happen when he pulls on the famous Dark Blue. Every other team is just a job for him.

All the more surprising therefore, that when bigger clubs like St Mirren and Killie come calling Harkins leaves Dundee as fast as he can. Which isn't very fast at all, but you get the point.
