More than Hamilton if you only count Scottish youth.

DrewDon
Yeah, not many positives to take from that. Edmondson is obviously raw, but he at least offered some sort of focal point and put himself about a bit when he came on. Hernandez was OK. If we are clutching at straws, we were marginally more competitive in the second half, although without ever looking like equalising. Unfortunately, Anderson never got a kick. Within the system McInnes prefers to play, especially against better opposition, he just isn't suited to 'leading the line' - he doesn't offer a target to hit and doesn't have the physicality to hold the ball up. This isn't all his fault, but it's why McInnes would obviously prefer to have someone like Main available in Cosgrove's absence. Our passing and use of the ball was really poor throughout, especially down the left side. Rangers were understandably content to leave our defenders on the ball and let them pass harmlessly between themselves before punting the ball over Anderson's head. It wasn't just the likes of Taylor and Considine who were culpable of using the ball poorly, though - Ojo, Kennedy and others, players we know are technically competent, were all guilty too. It wasn't just the passing, either - our movement, especially in the first half, was unintelligent and really limited our options when we did get a foot on the ball.
HarleyQuinn
Dean Campbell lookalike he is going to develop into some player. He is a level ahead of the rest in terms of passing and vision. He came on and made a difference today. Hernandez looks the real deal too. Though Hayes, Anderson, Kennedy, Considine, Ojo and Bryson were all poor.
Iminavest
For having 3 in midfield, they all looked so isolated on the ball. If we're going to get the best out of that system they need to play more as a unit. Sooner Hoban is in for Taylor, the better.

It's a false positive to say he's given these under 23's a lot of minutes last season when the three who totalled the most minutes were already regulars though.

I don't think that blooding youths is a particular weakness of his though.
Raidernation
Anyone else here spot the obvious difference between playing competitive preseason games versus just p***king about?

Hayes was the only new signing in the starting XI today, but most of the players still looked like they had only been introduced to each other five minutes before kick-off.

big al
Where do you start with that? Almost like statues when in possession, no pass and move at all. Supposedly strong in midfield with loads of options, the midfield was completely out played and manoeuvred by the ****. Anderson on his own up front is an embarrassing tactic ( that every c**t guessed beforehand except Mcinness who went with it anyway). In many other types of employment the management wouldnt get away with such oversight and incompetence. Horrible performance. He’s had 5 months to think about it and tweak the team to fit the ‘new club ethos’ of attractive footballer etc. He hasn’t changed in the slightest. Time for a change for me. First time I have ever felt like this but Mcinness isn’t the man for success.
