lubo_blaha
Shinnie finally signs, Aberdeen Mad is going to be a quiet place now! Could really do with him coming straight into the team for Saturday. Back four of Logan, Taylor, Reynolds and Shinnie looks good for next season.

Guest
Can't be right, several Sneckies told us this would never happen. Good signing though and 3 years is excellent work. Would be nice if we could slip Inverness a few quid and get him in before Saturday but won't be holding out hope for that. Great business either way.

Aufc
Never understand why someone who is good enough to go down south would choose to move to a relatively similar club in the same league. Shows a complete lack of ambition
AberDon
True ambition would be to move to some shitey former mining town in the north of England to play in front of 10 men and a dog with no hope of Europe or silverware for 8k a week. He has a young family and wants to move closer to his parents in Stonehaven so that they can help out, or so the rumour says.
PauloPerth
Wonder if McInnes was tempted to offer £50k or so to get him now, could really have made a massive difference in the league run in. I'm not sure how much ict would want to let him go. Most folk seem to have written off your chances of the title, but the past two results have both been battling comeback draws, it's not as if you're throwing games away, still to play celtic twice as well. The safe bet says celtic, but think there could be a few twists and turns to come, and a complete back 4 would make a huge difference...
RandomGuy.
Outrageous signal of intent from Aberdeen, fair fucking play. Has the stench of our signing of Wotherspoon, in that it was talked about in every single transfer window for years until finally happening.

You're basically saying he isn't good enough to play for a decent club in England with that comment.

He'd have been as well staying at ICT then, as we've got as much chance of qualifying for Europe this season as you lot.

lubo_blaha
Never understand why someone who is good enough to go down south would choose to move to a relatively similar club in the same league. Shows a complete lack of ambition He's signing for a team with a realistic chance of winning trophies and will probably play in Europe next season. He wouldn't be able to do that at Rotherham/Huddersfield/Millwall. Is it a lack of ambition that he sacrificed possibly 1/2k p/w to do so? Regarding Aberdeen being a similar club to ICT; Caley have never won a trophy, never been in Europe and have about a quarter of the support of Aberdeen. Any claims that this is a sideways move are ludicrous.
shootingboots
Signing for Aberdeen shows no ambition? Yet signing for someone like Preston or Rotherham would? Explain that one please, unless his only ambition is financial. Anyway, great signing. Team is already set for next season. alsy
Never understand why someone who is good enough to go down south would choose to move to a relatively similar club in the same league. Shows a complete lack of ambition There isn't much to choose between the teams on the park just now, but Aberdeen are still a much bigger club, and that will probably be reflected in the terms they can offer him. If the rumours of Championship clubs being interested are true, then he probably could have got a higher salary and played at a better level week-in, week-out with a move down south, but given his family connections in the Aberdeen area, this decision isn't surprising. Gutted, though. Wonder if McInnes was tempted to offer £50k or so to get him now, could really have made a massive difference in the league run in. I'm not sure how much ict would want to let him go. I'd be deeply pissed off if the club would settle for as little as 50k to let him go now: it would reek of a lack of ambition. Assuming Shinnie's going to maintain his recent form and remain a regular starter until the end of the season, then we should be treating him as potentially making the difference between a second and a fourth-place finish, which would be a great deal more than 50k in prize money; in fact the difference between fourth and third would still be a six-figure sum. Obviously in practice the loss of one player, other than a prolific striker or playmaker, is unlikely to make that sort of difference, but it would still leave a bad taste to see our board being prepared to weaken our team and strengthen a rival for so little.
