No, I wouldn't expect to get him for that kind of fee. Players in the Championship go for stupid money anyway, but Watford's 'moneyball' business model almost certainly means they'll be looking for considerably more than that.

But I think that's roughly the level that a player similar to Pollock could be sourced from elsewhere.

I like Pollock but there is a weakness in him playing in a back 3 when he inevitably gets dragged out wider, as a back 3 can tend to do. The lack of pace can expose him

I actually think he’d be better suited to a back 4, but he has been a terrific signing.

MacDonald’s positional sense has helped him too.

With potentially 16 players set to leave the club where do we need to strengthen this window? What do others hope to see happen recruitment wise?

Depends on who all leaves.
Or, who comes back from the loanees.

My gut tells me Scales, Clarkson, Shinnie will be here next season.
But not Pollock.

IF that’s correct, then:

- back up goalie
- cover at right back/right wing back
- Two central defenders.
- left back/left wing back.
- Two midfielders.
- Striker

But, it’s impossible to say until we know who is leaving.
It also is dependent on what Robson’s preferred formation is going to be.

He’s used a 3-1-4-2 in the main, and part of that was to get both Duk & Miovski up front as a two.
That’s maybe harder to do with a back 4?

With Joe Lewis looking as if he's leaving, we need an experienced, decent goalkeeper who is happy to sit on the bench for an entire season but is good enough to come on if required. A bit like Celtic have with Scott Bain.

Ideal scenario is a young up & coming goalie putting pressure on Roos, as opposed to an older keeper happy getting his £3k per week for sitting on his scratcher?

If Roos form continues as it has been over the past three months, it would be a waste for a decent young guy to spend a season on the bench.

Need a few jack of all trades types too.

With hopefully European Group football , our squad is going to be stretched thin.

Need some players to come in and be able to do a job if have a few injuries/ suspensions.

What’s Dom Ball up to these days?  🙄

Did you see Scott Bain's performance at Hibs? The exact reason why you don't have a keeper just happy to play now and then on the bench

It was a joke. Didn't work.

What about the young goalie Tom Ritchie. Only heard positive things about him.

I think the plan is for him to go out on loan.

A Neil Alexander/Tomas Cerny type backup keeper would be useful imo.

You already have a very good young keeper.  See below.

I’ve never seen the lad play so can’t comment or judge.

He did really well for us when he was out on loan.  Probably prevented us from getting beat by double figures in a couple of games tbh.

Speak up. Can't hear you from the lofty heights of third place.

Forget it, it was daft, you never do invest in your stadium.
