captainkev
Our interest in Dixon is on the BBC website now. Apparently we're looking to get him to sign a two and half year deal too. That'd be an outstanding bit of business if it all goes through. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31097823
The Darkest Timeline
Getting Dixon in would be a great end to a good window for us, if it happens.
peeeel
Celtic pull out of the Armstrong deal and Dixon may be on his way home, so far a fantastic window.

Aye the only downside so far has been the sad but probably necessary farewell to Keef. Edit: Oh yeah and the whole GMS pre-contract thing with Celtic as well. banana
Dixon will add a fair deal of attacking potency and delivery down the left, happy with that pick up. I wonder what kind of wedge we've added to the wage bill in this window with Anier, McGowan and Dixon. Celtic pull out of the Armstrong deal... Celtic biscuit-tinning? Still a while to go before midnight, but keeping GMS and Stretch for the remainder of the season would be a big boon.

Don't forget we've signed up Simon Murray too, although presumably he won't be earning nearly as much those other three signings will be. The wage bill will probably be quite steep now but I'd imagine we've got part of Watson's wage off it at the moment and he'll be off it for good in the summer, as will GMS and if rumours are to be believed, Rado too. Dillon could be off it if we don't renew his contract as well and we should take a fair bit off the bill if and when we flog Ciftci and Armstrong. skinny arab
We also got Wilson, Graham & Gardyne off of the wage bill from the start of the season.
GFARAB82
Charles Paterson@charlesp_skyBREAKING: @celticfc make a new bid for @dundeeunitedfc midfielder Stuart Armstrong, believed to be £1.6M #SkyDeadlineDay Minters feel embarrassed for them !!! The Darkest Timeline
I would call Celtic a joke and all that, but it's the exact same way I bid for players on FM That being said, if I were Thompson, I'd also be raising the asking price by 100k for every time they keep up with these types of bid. Desert Nomad
Very similar to Rangers approach to signing David Goodwillie a few years back. Celtic know the valuation has set. Armstrong is a clever guy though, doubt any of their shenanigans will unsettle him.
chazas_
We should be telling the to get to f**k. Absolutely no way we should be selling two of our best three players to a rival when we are in such a fantastic financial position and still with realistic hopes of finishing the season with two trophies and 2nd place. This. They've had the whole of the transfer window to do a deal and they're pissing about on the last day. Hopefully Thompson's day finishes at 5.00; Lawell will get Dillon's dulcet tones on the answer machine.
stumigoo
Celtic treating a Scottish club in a way that they would never do with a club elsewhere in Europe. They sign barrow loads of shite from all across the continent for multiple millions of pounds and yet they refuse to pay for home-grown talent. We should tell them to bolt. ~~~
I'll tip my hat to Dundee United, they've never tried to sign a player from a fellow Scottish club trying to get him as cheap as they can.

stumigoo
Sure you're not a Celtic fan with that level of paranoia? Paranoia? Boerrigter - £3milllion Scepovic - £2.3million Pukki - £2.4million Balde - £1.8million Ambrose - £1.5million Bangura - £2.2million When you look at that list you realise firstly just how terrible Celtic's scouts are and also just how ridiculously easy they are to get money out of when it comes to teams not in Scotland. Pull My Strings
I'll tip my hat to Dundee United, they've never tried to sign a player from a fellow Scottish club trying to get him as cheap as they can. If the suggestion is that Celtic have acted unfairly in trying to sign Scottish players on the cheap then I wouldn't go along with that. They're entitled to bid whatever they think a player is worth. On the other hand if the suggestion is that they're idiots if they rate some of these foreign duds more highly than the likes of Fletcher, Russell and Armstrong then that case is surely unarguable. United have made it known that they want upwards of £2.5M for Armstrong and don't need the money. Celtic are simply wasting everyone's time if they're not prepared to go to that price. Someone else will pay it in the summer.
Pull My Strings
PMS: summer I believe. I think the last "done deal" you reported was us signing Billy McKay.
