Arsenal set to sign Calum Chambers for £16 million.

Is there anyone left for Southampton to sell?

Spurs have apparent enquired about Rodriguez too haha, Koeman had better have the contacts for an almost complete rebuild

Ledley King was the best English centre half when fit, easily.

No, no he wasn't. You've clearly fallen into the trap of believing all the sentimental quotes about him that have been drowning out common sense for the past eight years

They do still have the bones of a decent squad there and they'll have a lot of money to spend if they want to. However, I reckon Koeman will sign a lot of players from the Eredivisie and that's never really a recipe for success.

Crazy money for a youngster who has only made around 20 first team appearance. A bit surprised at the amount of Southampton players going to top 4 teams they only finished midtable last year.

Wenger is just doing all he can to ensure he doesn't have to call on the abysmal Carl Jenkinson.

I remember watching that Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal game & his was possibly the worst performance I've ever seen.

West Ham would appear to be in for a difficult season. I know it's just pre-season friendlies but back to back losses to Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC can't be seen as good. Line up (v Sydney) featured a lot of first XI players so it's not like they've sent out the youth squad.

Newcastle fairing better having tanned Sydney 4-0 then beating Wellington 1-0 yesterday.

David Gold has pretty much confirmed he wants Allardyce out by favouriting a tweet on the subject, the whole Ravel Morrison saga and Allardyces signing targets have put the relationship in turmoil. Unsurprisingly Kevin Nolan has gone all defensive on Allardyces side

Gold looks like he moonlights as a Royston Vasey extra.

Southampton are now an insanely rich football team with no players. Hard to say what their actual future plan of action is. Presumably spend half of that money on players not based in England?

Well, they've already spent about a fifth of it on two players from the Dutch league. With a view to upping that to almost a third for Forster. So seems yer right. Except being conservative with the "half". And they'd be right to. Because f**k buying players in the BPL, given how much you have to spend there. They'd probably have spent something like half already.
