The Ginger Prince
Anyone watching the Liverpool v City game? The pitch is absolutely shite, granted it's a baseball stadium that's been adjusted for this but christ the pitch is a mess on the near side. David W
I'm watching it. Fernando is a terrific signing for City.
NorthernLights
How very embarrassing - Pumped by Groningen Villa have had a couple of bad pre-season results. Do the Villa fans see any reasons to be hopeful and what would it take for Lambert to get the boot?
Bully Wee Villa
No and a new owner.
VillaKnollBoy
Played in stifling heat and after conceding the two early goals, we never really bothered our arse.
lichtie23
So no Howard Webb refereeing in the premier league this season as he has retired.

David W
Howard Webb basically retired last summer; he was petrified to give decisions last season.
throbber
Howard Webb was a very good referee and i for one wish him all the best.
RandomGuy.
Bojan is a player I've always liked due to one spectacular PES career, so its nice to see him smashing in the goals for Stoke pre-season. Could be a massive signing if he rediscovers his Barca form
Diamonds are Forever
Howard Webb basically retired last summer; he was petrified to give decisions last season. He really did regress badly in the last couple of seasons, particularly last season he was extremely poor. Perhaps someone's had a quiet work in his ear and he's decided he can't face refereeing Championship games and just to go out at the top.
trainspotter
He really did regress badly in the last couple of seasons, particularly last season he was extremely poor. Perhaps someone's had a quiet work in his ear and he's decided he can't face refereeing Championship games and just to go out at the top. Whatever the reason, fair play to him for making the announcement after he's retired. Can't stand the egotistical types who do it in advance. Rab B Nesbit
Howard Webb basically retired last summer; he was petrified to give decisions last season. This is a good point. He was always so assured and confident looking when he made decisions. Guess over time to then keep finding out after he'd made a balls up must have been hard to take. 7-2
http://www.sportskeeda.com/football/which-premier-league-club-best-record-howard-webb-referee The real reason Liverpool hate Webb... Top EPL's record with Howard Webb as referree 1. Man City - 17 games - 2.41 points per game 2. Arsenal - 15 games - 2.33 points per game 3. Man Utd - 20 games - 1.85 points per game 4. Chelsea -16 games - 1.69 points per game 5. Tottenham - 15 games - 1.60 points per game 6. Everton - 16 games - 1.50 points per game 7. Liverpool - 19 games - 0.89 points per game Looks like they take they're using the wrong Manchester club as a smokescreen but, then again, they haven't jealously despised City's success for over 20 years, yet. banana
Arsenal winning 3-0 so far in the Charity shield Ramsey being back is some boost, no coincidence that a flying Arsenal started fumbling when he went out injured last season. City have looked poor for most of the pre-season, no idea what's going on there. Surely they should still be very competitive at this stage even without a few World Cuppers and a few injuries? DigOutYourSoul
See Andy Robertson scored on his first Hull start, friendly against Stuttgart . Think he might get a lot of time in the first team this season. Hulls 3-5-2 suits him perfectly - secret weapon on the Fantasy bench I hope. Rab B Nesbit
Was down at the Liverpool v Borussia Dortmund friendly today. 4-0 Liverpool ... a very impressive performance with Sturridge, Lovren, Coutinho and Henderson scoring. Manquilla started at right back and looked the part. Never know there could be life after Luis.
