An English vote to take the UK out of the European Union if Scots vote to stay could be the “tipping point” that brings about another independence poll, Salmond told The Times.

Tough shit lads everyone was well aware (from both sides) that there may be an eu referendum in 2017 but scotland votd no.

No there isn't. It'll be a prepped up Labour Government. (Unless of course they want another 4 years of tory government, which might not bother Labour so much these days)

The tories can't rule out a future referendum. Referendums are a democratic right. They would be breaking international law by refusing.

You just made that up didnt you?

Cumon tae fuk here lads, im a yes supporter and im dispairing at some of the ideas on here. you need to move away from the che guavara t-shirt politics and idea if you ever want to win. start by reflecting on where yes went wrong and what can be done better if and when theres a next time. instead of lambasting no voters , taking the moral high ground and being scottish glorius failures

Well, I disagree. The debate was not like that. Mind Yes = no EU?

Its a long, long fight. Why not sit back and relax, laugh at Red Tories.

True as that is, david cameron promised an eu referendum ages before the scottish one, the yes side even tried to capitalise on that saying a yes vote was the only way to garantee eu membership.

And the Unionists got a raft of European experts and officials to say that Scotland wouldn't be guaranteed EU membership after a Yes vote and got far more publicity with it, what's your point?

Still valid though mate. Not sure they'd win it quite yet. So, not sure its wise.

Yes.. Isn't it a real c**t when you can't just make things up a la Nicola sturgeon and not be called on it?

Damn those Europeans and experts with all their facts. The SNP might have got away with lying to the Scottish people through their teeth if it wasn't for those pesky experts...

What's the point of this? We can't be in the EU, with Yes or No?

because scotland voted to stay in the uk. europe or no europe, we voted to stay in the uk , a non federal state which then voted itself out of the EU. have we just to have a referendum every time england does something we dont like? They could easily tell us to f**k off. youre on a hiding to nothing here.

we cant have another referendum for at least 15 years, i want independance now but youve got to be fair. accept this years result and move on to the future. imagine we voted yes in september and the unionists were demanding another vote becuase of the oil price? but things have changed they would say! imagine the scenes

Why do you believe it's fair to bind future Holyrood governments legislating on holding another independence referendum because we held one in 2014?

We were told they couldn't make the Holrood parliament permanent because you can't bind future Westminster governments on legislature passed by previous governments.

And where are you getting the 15 years figure from?

Fair becuase to do otherwise would be asking the question untill you get the answer you want. besides 15 years is a pretty small generational gap anywhere outside fife :P . im sorry to say lads we lost. we cant just demand a rematch right away. what kind of confidence would that give the voters on scottish democracy if it was percieved that the very thing we were being asked to vote into existance wouldnt take no for an answer. got to play the long game im afraid

The SNP, Labour and Lib Dems will bend over backwards to deny the British people a vote on Europe, so much for "democratic rights".

You didn't really answer my question as to why it's 15 years. Why not 10? why not 20?

And why can't we "demand a rematch right away"? If it's in the party manifesto before the election and the people vote the party into government is that not democracy?
