Drink you don't see anymore?

K Cider

Skol

Kestrel lager although I've heard an advert for it on TalkSport recently? Gawd forbid...

K Cider can still be bought in cans in supermarkets. Unfortunately, canned Cider always tastes rank.

I miss Red Rock - the finest cider ever made.

Not seen bottle of Strike Cola for years, but since I hate cola I'm probably not looking terribly hard.

Pretty sure you get oranjeboom in stereo

Pretty sure you get cans of it in The Flying Duck as well.

As for Eldorado, seems to be having a bit of a renaissance as of late. I've seen many shops stocking it down next to the Bucky.

You can get Tennent's Ember in The Griffin across from the King's Theatre.

You can get McEwan's lager in Ben Nevis on Argyll Street too. And some sort of /60-shilling thing too but I don't know what that is, and just read people on here talk about it. I guess it doesn't help that I'm not 60.

You can get Murphy's at the Campanille Hotel near the SECC/Hydro.

Not sure about actual Becks, but you can get Becks Vier at the aforementioned Campanille Hotel and the Genting Casino. Some pool hall too, maybe on W. Regent Street, but I can't for the life of me remember the name.

You can get that in either Stereo or Nice 'n' Sleazy's in the downstairs gig bit, I just can't remember which one.

Had a few cans of that when I was over in Berlin in April and Dusseldorf in September. Lethal stuff but actually quite pleasant. Probably a good thing they don't sell it over here.

^^ Knows his pubs

Tennents 60 shilling.

Got that on draught in the clubbie around the corner from me. It's a nice pint, and for £2.25 it does me.

Saw a fella buying 24 cans of Skol from the One O One when I was in today. He did look a bit like 8 Ace from Viz so I assume it was his evenings carryout.

You might be right, a while ago Skol reverted to 2.8%.

Rolling Rock. Used to drink it by the gallon when asda sold 40 bottles for £20

You still get it in Asda. Four pack for £2, but it's another tax dodger that's gone to 2.8%

As a youth we'd get Concorde fruit wine, apple Thunderbird or big 1.5 litre bottles of 4% Lambrusco, which I guess would probably be a precursor to Lambrini. Other youthful favourites were Merrydown or that sherry that jakies drink, the name of which escapes me now (wasn't Croft, it was a dark sherry with red lettering on the label).

Q.C. - nicknamed Quick Charge by those who 'enjoyed' it.

Red Rock was an awesome cider. Advertised by Leslie Nielsen as well!

I had a tour of the Drybrough's brewery once. The best bit was the bar at the end of the tour.... It had no till

They used to have a heavy which guys I knew drank in some club and they referred to it as Sludge, which is what you asked for at the bar.

One of the Asian cash and carries in Glasgow brought out Hampden Lager back in the 1970s. It was probably even worse than Norseman lager.

Did Tennents or Youngers have a beer called White Cockade or White Thistle? I think I remember it from visits to Edinburgh.
