The_Kincardine
50 minutes of sheer televisual excellence followed by 10 minutes of barely-credible tripe. The forensic coordinator is an excellent character, though. Clearly intelligent and logical but with a hint of menace and madness to keep him interesting. I look forward to watching this pan out. 4 crusty socks out of 5 for Thandi Newton, too. Now a feature of the MILF thread. Have you seen Westworld? That elevates her to a 6 or 7 out of 5 on the crusty-sockometer.

See the MILF thread but a Charles for 'crusty-sockometer'. Could become P&B's phrase of the month.

The last ten min of series 3 was daft too....but with a show of that quality a bit of daftness is easily forgiven
jimmy boo
I thought the whole thing was laughable drivel. Mrs Boo enjoyed it but then she does have low standards.
Ira Gaines
I think the main hope for me is that it's just the first episode and it could well improve from there. The last season, they had the big first episode twist, but that only really got obvious right before it actually happened. The shite final act at least leaves for a lot of intrigue going forward, so if they actually build on that, the first episode will be worth it. Plus, there's clearly some serious shit going down at AC-12.
Fide
Well, what did everyone think of last night's episode? Not sure what to make of this series so far. As much as I like Martin Compston, his accent is borderline Aussie in places.
Thistle_do_nicely
Started watching this again - been a big fan of the show, and although the ending of the last season left me more than a bit bemused I'm enjoying this new season so far. My mum watches it too and has a theory I'm sort of keen on; Spoiler Thandie Newton's husband is Balaclava Man and her actions in seeking to convict someone else are to protect him Would need to rewatch the first episode and second ep with that idea in mind to discount it (and I missed the first five minutes of the second episode!)
Flybhoy
The theory on balaclava man I think may be a good shout, its also obvious the superintendent guy manipulating Roz Hunteley is bit of a wrong 'un.
dundeefc1783
Surely balaclava man was the forensic investigator? Or is that too obvious
Flybhoy
A long overdue tanking for Arnott there, he wont die clearly but will be in a coma for next few episodes while Kate and co try and get to the bottom of things.
jimmy boo
Turned over for the news and caught the last 2 minutes. Mrs Boo thinks he's dead but I think the first scene in next episode he'll be in hospital in casts and tubes and wires hanging off him.
Ira Gaines
He's been for it for a while tbh. I think he's alive but they'll pull a double twist and kill him off later.
stawner upper
By the new leads balaclava man always was the Husband, Huntleys husband, who also just so happened to be bumming one of the young girls that wasn't done away with, condoms and various men.The guy in custody getting hit with all the charges Farmer is just a witness to one of the crimes

pittsburgh phil
Long past trying to second guess Line Of Duty at the halfway stage but surely Steve's brown bread? That was a helluva fall onto concrete, notwithstanding the beating he took beforehand.

williemillersmoustache
I only just discovered this. Binged all of season 3 on iplayer, immense. The Irish Super is brilliant. "No? I'll give you no sonny." An absolute triumph for the BBC.
