Some breathtaking hypocrisy on this thread

Celtic stitched up during the game due to incompetence = Suck it up and stop crying.

Inverness stitched up after the match due to incompetence = outrage ensues due to the worst injustice known to man.

If the roles were reversed you'd all be absolutely delighted about an offending celtic player being banned for the final.

The sfa are solely to blame, if their officials did their job correctly the boy would banned for their next scottish cup game regardless.

So, just to be clear and going by a few recent posts:

Celtic's Cup run saw three opponents sent off and included that ridiculous penalty against Hearts and their League Cup Final victory was against a 10 man Dundee Utd !?

Close. It was 4 men as Hearts also had a player sent off

Point missed spectacularly.

Whether that's deliberate on your part or down to sheer stupidy, well it's hard to tell.

I’m not in any way shape for form defending the SFA’s decision but they are following the letter, if not the spirit, of their own rules.

A player can only be cited by the compliance officer for an incident missed by the match officials not one that they saw and didn’t act upon. They clearly didn’t see the Meekings’ handball and thought the celtic keeper’s challenge not worthy of being a foul. That’s why the former can be cited but not the latter.

Generally though a player will only be cited for a serious off the ball incident not for a handball. I believe that it has been confirmed that in the four years this rule has been in place not a single player has been cited for a handball missed by the match officials.

Why now then?

It isn’t a great leap to link, if only indirectly, the citation to celtic’s well publicised letter to the SFA. An example of Might makes Right if ever there was one.

Why would the SFA take notice of a petition on fucking change.org?

Why would they take notice of a bitter, bad loser citing one penalty incident when there was a more dangerous challenge which should have been a penalty by said bad loser in the same game?

Why not? They effectively caved into the foaming at the mouth, paranoid wretches that make up a sizeable proportion of your support.

They received a formal letter from a member club. I don't think a couple of hundred people howling at the moon purely because they don't like Celtic will have the same impact.

Why should they take notice of the letter sent by Celtic?

Q: Why didn't we get a penalty for handball on Sunday?

A: Cos the Ref never saw it.
