Post-Split Fixtures

Recommended Posts

The talks have been further complicated by the possibility of either Falkirk or Hibs - who face each other in Saturdays Scottish Cup semi final - also reaching the final promotion play-off for place in next seasons Premiership. Such a scenario would force the SPFL to extend the season into June.

It is likely that, even if the post split fixtures are announced tomorrow, a definitive date for the play-off final will be held back until next week at the earliest.

This is a completely separate issue and won't have "complicated" the talks at all. The dates for the 5 post-split fixtures won't change regardless of who reaches the Scottish Cup final.

the only complication is whether the tv companies will pay extra to show more games or use their quota to cover last five rounds and playoffs.

I had assumed all six playoffs would be on tv this year but doesnt look like being the case

Guess they thought that if it does go to a decider that Motherwell - Thistle is more likely than Motherwell - County (I'd have thrown in Motherwell- Killie, but there you go) and presumably the Saturday morning timeslot isn't available for 23rd May due to whatever fixtures in England.
