The Greenock Morton Thread - It's Better Than Yours

If he's going back out on loan I'd imagine we're a good shout. A drop down a level, a chance of regular game time, the Bartley connection and the fact we don't really have any out and out wingers.

Think he'd do well at QoS. He just never seem to click properly here. No idea why?

He still has the ability to make it in the game, maybe the Championship came too soon in his career?

Glad to see Kabia away tbh... the (very) rare flourish when he's on the ball massively outweighed by a maddening tendency just to let the ball drift past him when the team's out of possession. If he can't get that out of his game, he won't make it at any credible level.

Glad but not surprised to see it just won't be tolerated under Imrie.

Noticed also that Imrie quite openly talked in the post-match interview about the possibility of 'one or two' coming in before Hamilton. Pretty certain we'll make at least two more signings this month: a central striker and a wide-player (another midfielder would be the bonus ball). Just a matter of how soon it gets done... and whether or not he gets his first choices.

We're down to a squad of 18 and that includes King, Garrity, and the young GK; we won't even get to the finish line with those numbers, never mind sustain a play-off challenge. Get it done.

Only really 1 down from what we were already operating with but aye, need a few bodies (especially with there seemingly being a lack of trust to use those outside the first 11).

Intrigued about who he might go for. Dougie hasn't really been one for signing squad players but rather upgrades to go straight in.

Very frustrating player, when we signed him it seemed like a great move from us, just what we needed but at the end of the day he just wasn't good enough. There is a player in there that I think might develop in a few seasons time, for Championship level it's just to soon for him. He's very lightweight and vanished most games, like a man down at times, he had plenty of minutes for us to prove himself. The games he did play well in he looked decent, neat on the ball and took his goals well but we are talking maybe 2-3 games max! Dropping down to League 1 would be great for him, recon he'd do well if you's signed him.

So instead of Niall McGinn, you get the guy being shipped out to make room for Niall McGinn.

A curious move. But knowing Morton this season, it'll end up working out great for whatever reason.

Seemed to do ok at a struggling Queens last season.

12 goals in 36 appearances but only 18 starts.

Needed competition for Muirhead and looks like exactly that. Wont play every min of every game but looks a decent option off the bench.

Hoping for a return to P&B of Ally's family member who defended how good a player he was because he once scored 4 goals v Blarney United in the Irish Cup.

Morton losing this season's game of scabby queen with the signing of the peaheart. How he still gets teams at this level is pretty wild stuff.

Ooft! That's a cracking bit of business tbh.

How that complete charlatan has bagged himself another Championship gig is incredible. Complete shitebag of the highest order. Good luck.

Total deja vu as I remember saying exactly the same to you lads last season, which was said to us a couple of seasons before when he was run out of Thistle.  He's the ultimate "exactly as warned" player. The fact he's had one season in the last 8 where he's started more than 20 games in a season makes this move even more baffling.

He did exactly the same the previous season for us scored three times the first couple of games then nothing. Unless you class crapping out of any challenges a thing 😂

He shat himself out a challenge at Killie away last year and they ran up the park and scored, think that was the point in the season which took me over the edge

It wasn't even 50/50 challenges he crapped out of it was any challenge, even if he would have been able to get the ball away easily he'd still hold back. Total coward.
