SweeperDee
Imagine if there were 3 or 4 nutters shooting from that balcony? Would have been carnage. Still don’t quite understand how he waltzed into a hotel room with 10 firearms though, especially ones of supposed military grade.

Its 'Murica, a Muslim would have turned more heads walking into that hotel than a Good Ole Boy with an arsenal.
SweeperDee
Why? Have you ever had your suitcases searched by a hotel when you check in? Nope, but if I had to make repeated trips up and down numerous floors to carry black, heavy cases full of assault rifles and ammunition, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone clocked onto what I was doing and thinking it was a bit weird.

Broken down they wouldnt require that many suitcases and remember he was in the hotel for 3 days prior to the shooting,so probably took them over that time

Most semi and fully automatic rifles fold up. a couple of biggish sports holdalls would do it. Not sure what the colour has to do with it.

Where was he getting them from though? If the weapon used was actually military grade; where could a supposed civilian source them from? Surely if it was that easy to smuggle weapons into hotels, it would have been done in the UK by now as well? Or maybe our gun laws prevent those types of weapons getting into the hands of civilians in most cases... -

Military grade is a term used for loads of readily available to buy machine guns etc in most gun stores,it makes people think they are getting something better Loads of guns been in hotel rooms here aswell without anybodys knowledge.Didnt a terrorist from an incident in london this year been staying in a hotel for few days prior?? Aladdin
Some chat that he didn't even have an automatic weapon but rather a semi auto with a legal modification that makes close to automatic. If that turns out to be true it's absolutely mental that you can buy something like that for a few dollars.

Gun culture and availability is hardly out of the ordinary.

But considering how far he was from the crowd, he was able to mow down a lot with pretty good accuracy going by the kill/casualty count. Surely that’s not possible with Walmart hunting rifles? Not too sure about that London thing, so can’t comment. -

Getting one or two i can see happening, just take them apart and hide them in luggage, but how do you get 9 in without anyone questioning it? Either you have someone coming in and out regularly with luggage/packages etc which would raise suspicion or you have one or two very heavy bags, cause even with modern materials, a rifle aint light as far as i am aware.

williemillersmoustache
Fair enough. Where was he getting them from though? If the weapon used was actually military grade; where could a supposed civilian source them from? Walmart.Almost anywhere. Pathetically easy to buy an off the shelf ar15 (civvy m16) and buy a perfectly legal conversation kit or breach block from a different gun show to make a legal, for retail semi auto rifle into a full auto.Saw something about being able to 3D print them a while ago. That's assuming he went to all that trouble. Private sales of firearms are to all intents and purposes unregulated.
Granny Danger
This is the U.S.A. Give it 18 months and you'll be getting offered complimentary assault weapons when you book in. "Yes sir, there's a safe in the room, bathrobe and slippers and an AK 47. Will you be wanting any additional rounds for that? Have a nice stay".
TheGoon
Michael Moore got a rifle for opening a bank account in Bowling for Columbine. I wonder if that still exists.
