So to break that down further for dumbo

I will need to pay the train Dusseldorf to Dortmund and Dusseldorf to Leverkusen yay or nay?

Your Leverkusen match tickets will cover you for travel in the VRS transport region, which is centred on Cologne and Bonn.. However, Dusseldorf (and Dortmund) are in the VRR transport region.

To get round the above, you'll need to buy a ticket from Dusseldorf to Langenfeld (which is on the border between the VRS and VRR) and your Leverkusen match ticket will cover you from there. You can also board a train that doesn't stop at Langenfeld doing the above as long as it isn't an Inter city Express (ICE); if I remember right the S Bahn trains stop at Langenfeld (and a million other stops) whilst the regional trains pretty much go straight from Dusseldorf to Leverkusen Mitte. The ground is a pleasant 15 min walk from Mitte station through the town park.

Our German football trip is Hamburg this year and we're heading over the weekend of 10th March. Both big Hamburg clubs are at home so we've got tickets for St Pauli v Union Berlin on the Friday and Hamburg v Gladbach on the Sunday. Nearest game at a decent level on the Saturday is at Hannover so we're taking a day trip down there to see them play 1860 Munich.

Even tickets for St Pauli were surprisingly easy to get and we thankfully didn't have to resort to the likes of viagogo.

Cannae wait :-)

A pretty lackluster performance from H96 this evening, but a goal from Uffe Bech in the 49th minute was enough to secure the win for H96, and put them top of the BL2, albeit equal as regards points with Braunschweig & Stuttgart.
Next up a trip to Fürth on Friday evening. 9a6d3f868434805b9aebab5e0cd85682.jpg

Sure we've got Fürth next week in the DFB Pokal. How they getting on this year? I'm hoping after Saturday Borussia have turned a corner, Im going to the Freiburg game on Saturday and really unsure what to expect!

Their league form has been very inconsistant. They did put out Mainz in the last round though.

Yeah cracking game, having BT and no sky has been a welcome change this season. Do miss getting to see La Liga though.

You can watch all of the La Liga games on some betting sites. I watch them through bet365 on the lap top

A veritable humping for H96 last night against Greuther Fürth. Atrocious defending in the first half gifted the guests 2 goals. Second half H96 were slightly "better", but Fürth killed the game stone dead with 2 goals in the space of 3 minutes midway though the 2nd half. Edgar Prib, the H96 captain, got a consolation goal just before full-time.
Not just a defeat but a dent in the goal difference which saw H96 slip down a position.

The stadium, Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer, is undergoing a redevelopment with a new main stand being built. The "tunnel" is at the top right corner of the 2nd photo.
Was a fairly good atmosphere, despite it being just under half full (8.455 / 18.000). Some annoying pillars which spoil the view, not too big an issue last night since the block I was in was fairly empty and could move about freely.

Next up DFB-Pokal at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.

A question if I may. I'm going to see Hannover 96 V 1860 on 11 March and have just bought print at home tickets. I'm traveling to and from Hamburg on the day. Do these tickets qualify me for free transport on the day or are there perhaps some restrictions?

The tickets give you free travel only in the GVH zone, which is the Hannover municipal area.

As regards getting from Hamburg and back depends on how many you are.

If on your own, then get an advance return ticket for an ICE high speed train.

If part of a small group, then get a Niedersachsen ticket, which allows you and your group to use all trains in Hamburg, Bremen and the whole state of Lower Saxony (doesn't cover high speed ICE / IC trains) for the whole 24 hours of the day in question. Connection wise would mean getting the Metronom from Hamburg to Uelzen, change there and onwards to Hannover.

Once in Hannover, the stadium is a 20-25 minute walk southwards from the main station. Alternatively take the subway (lines 3, 7 or 9) to Waterloo station and from there is a 5 minute walk.

Last 16 of the DFB-Pokal concluded tonight. Tuesday saw Hamburg, Bielefeld, Bayern Munich as well as Mönchengladbach make it through to the 1/4 final draw.
Tonight (Wednesday) giant-killers Sportfreunde Lotte continued their winning ways putting out 1860 Munich. Schalke brushed past Sandhausen, whilst BVB made it past Hertha after e/t and penalties!
Hannover took the lead against Frankfurt thanks to a Martin Harnik goal in the 57th minute. Ideas of a win were short lived with Frankfurt getting 2 goals in the next 10 minutes. H96 got a penalty in the 96th minute which saw Salif Sane hit a poor shot which Hradecky in the Frankfurt goal was able to parry away.

Draw for the 1/4 finals gave the following pairings:-

Eintracht Frankfurt - Arminia Bielefeld
Sportfreunde Lotte - BVB Dortmund
Bayern Munich - Schalke 04
SV Hamburg - Borussia Mönchengladbach

H96 got back to winning ways with a fairly unconvincing performance to beat Bochum 2-1, at a bitterly cold HDI Arena. The win leaves H96 in 2nd, 3 points behind Stuttgart & 2 in front of Braunschweig.b4417578eb5faf6b31734c11c03b21a2.jpg

Next up is away to Dresden (who lost to St. Pauli at the weekend), a game which will likely have a very high police presence!

In the top league the round of games couldn't have worked out better for Bayern, with them winning and all of the next 6 teams in the league losing.

Following last weeks shenanigans at the Dortmund-Leipzig game, the DFB have fined Dortmund for this weekend's game against Wolfsburg, by making them close the "yellow wall" south terracing!

Hertha, with a bit of investment, could be a force in German and European football surely? Dardai has done a brilliant job and must know the club inside out. They already have some talented young players (Brooks/Weiser/Stark/Plattenhardt) and must be pulling in 60k + crowds judging by those pictures.

They tend to get big crowds when the big teams come to Berlin but struggle a bit more when it's "run of the mill" teams, sadly.

That said, they've also had a bit of a push to bring in more punters. A lot of people move to Berlin to work and still support their "old" teams, so they're trying to attract them to games too.

Yeah, went to a Hertha game a couple of years ago and it was a Friday night. There was perhaps only about 35,000 there.

Worst game of football ever though. 0-0 draw with Freiburg and no shots on target from either side. Horrible. Great atmosphere though.
