Heart of Midlothian v St. Johnstone, 02/08/2015

Scobbie and Bradders seemed to bring the worst out of each other's (decent enough) individual games. Was impressed with Shaugnessy though and his long throw is a real weapon for us with Sutton causing problems and players like Craig and Lappin waiting to pounce on any loose balls. Based on this would be tempted to move Dave Mackay into the centre and play him with Ando at centre back when both players are back, especially if Wright isn't 100%. In the meantime though would rather see a one-legged and blind Frazer Wright in our defence than the Bradders-Scobbie partnership based on their time together thus far in Europe and that game there.

Mental game though. Can't remember any game like that last season. Missed the 3-3 Celtic game so from a personal point of view closest thing to that in recent seasons is the 3-3 draw with hearts where Alan Mannus tried to strangle Ryan Stevenson and we finished with Scobbie in goal :lol:

That ended in disappointment too- we aren't very good at this whole thrilling game thing.

Erm, all home end match tickets were sold out.

There were plenty of empty seats behind each goal and more than a few at the right hand side of the main stand. Still a great crowd, though.

They don't sell the tickets at the right hand side of the main stand.

Right hand side as looking at it on the TV. Left hand side of you were in it, I guess. There were folk around the empty seats. Not talking rows and rows here, but it was a sparse crowed dotted about in that area.

There were a few hundred empty seats dotted around the ground, probably a consequence of the Sunday lunchtime ko on TV. Corporate hospitality in the Gorgie looked to be under capacity by a few hundred which was the reason for the biggest gap.

We announced there was no more tickets about an hour before the game. Why would we do that if there was still some left to sell?

Whether or not every punter actually made it in the end is also another matter. Folk are on holiday at this time of year, for example.

Yeah, a few hundred seems about right. Forgive my nitpicking, 16,000+ not to be sniffed at.

You don't need to take every minor criticism of Hearts so personally, neebur. Enjoy the win. :)

Cant be too disheartened. We were the better side, and only a poor show from the defence cost us, we'd have won that at full strength.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Only gonna mention 2 things, Brad Mckay is a fucking donkey and we'll hump Hearts with our first team.

:lol:

We weren't at full-strength either, champ. Indeed, that's the first time that most of the squad we had out today has played together. Many barely even featured in pre-season and are still lacking match fitness/sharpness.

Unlucky.

I thought Rossi looked solid again today and I'm fairly sure he's naturally meant to be more of a centre-back than a left-back. Augustyn looked like the sort of no-nonsense player at the back we've been missing for a while too. Attacking will certainly be more of a strength for us than defending this season but I'm sure we'll tighten up as the season goes on.
