The over-reaction to the Stenny lose is unbelievable. Forgive me but didn't Falkirk, Dumbarton, Alloa and QOTS also go out on the diddy cup? Looking at the records, other than the season winning it, we've only had the Quart Finals in this cup once in the past decade.

McKinnon gave some players an opportunity to impress and get some match fitness and game time and they didn't take it. We also didn't take our chances. McKinnon has come out and been frank and honest with the fans and we all know he wasn't happy with the result and performance. Makes a slight change from the past few seasons.

We're back home now and I expect us to pick up where we left from the Livi and Albion games. Toshney will be back in and I think he works better with Bates than Bene does. Plus McKeown will be back so we should be more solid at the back. For all the possession Falkirk had last Saturday I don't recall many clear cut chances.

Clearly we have an issue with taking our chances but again McKinnon has identified this. It's a massive blow when a team loses their best player, who also happens to be their main goalscorer and it's not easy to replace him. There's not going to a proven 15-20 goal striker just sitting there waiting for us to call him and sign him up. McKinnon is taking his time and looking for the right player, not just any player.

I can see us winning this 3-0 again and hopefully that will calm some of the overreacters down.

Just out of interest, when did we last win two consecutive home league games by 3 goal margins?

Just had a check and we managed a 4-1 against Ross County in the final home league game of 2009/2010 season, followed by a 4-0 against Partick Thistle in the opening home league game of the 2010/2011 season. Last time we managed it in the same season was 2008/2009, when one of the wins was a 4-1 victory against Alloa.

I will be surprised if we manage another 3-0 win, so soon after the last one. Our usual is a 2-1. I'd take that.

See what years of McGlynn and Murray have done to me?

Back to back hat tricks in those games as well IIRC.

Russell in the County game and Baird against Thistle.

When was the last time that happened?

Expecting a response to the 2 defeats and rovers to come out strong today. Lashed together back 4 going to be an issue though. Can Thomson play during his appeal?

In the meantime, his suspension of one league match and one Challenge Cup match is held in abeyance and therefore Jason remains available for selection.

I think we can win this one, if we can get the all important first goal. Duffy is due a goal to cIap the rest of his good play and Chops is always a threat.

Danny's main problem IMO is he's still not sure what his best team is. I'd go 4-4-1-1 with McAusland, McManus, O'Brien and Hetherington in midfield and Chops and Duffy alternating the front two positions.

This is why I couldn't understand the team on Wednesday night, surely he should be trying to find consistency with team selection by this stage. Instead we appear to be nowhere nearer knowing the best team and we have another defeat against lower league opposition under our belts.

I hope its DC in goals today and that we stick with a pretty similar line up for the next few weeks. A game we are certainly capable of winning if we can avoid howlers at the back, which isn't a given at all.

I would guess we'll approach this like the Livi game and prioritise solidity. Our backline with the chopping and changing and maybe lack of experience will have a mistake or.two in it though. Feeling like a 2-1, definitely not comprehensive or dominant though.

Craigen and Wighton will create something. Grantie to score off the bench, attacking back post.

Hoping Danny Lennon gets a decent welcome.

Davidson starts at centre half. Very harsh on David Bates, for me.

Megginson the only attacking option from the bench. Has anyone mentioned we need a striker?

Dougie Hill captains Alloa too. Sure he'll get a good reception.

Agreed. Bates has looked the part and Davo should really only be an emergency centre half.
