The comments are NOT mine (pays to pay look at what you type) +++ Djokovic’s case submission https://www.fcfcoa.gov.au/sites/default/files/2022-01/MLG%2035%20of%202022%20-%20Applicant%27s%20submissions.pdf So according to that Djokovic had a temporary VISA granted on 18th November with no conditions (surely thats wrong), then a medical exemption on the 30th Dec from TA that was endorsed by Vic government for a Covid infection on 16th December. That begs the question if he had a VISA with no conditions attached to it, why did he need the medical exemption anyway? Then he had on 1st Jan a Declaration Assessment from Home Affairs saying that his responses indicate that he met requirements for quarantine free travel on Australia. If this is the letter they are referring to from Home Affairs as a smoking gun then its going to end in a whimper you would think. As the “letter” says, the approval is based on his responses to declarations he made. The declarations he made would have had to do with him thinking he was coming in legitimately which have since been found to be incorrect. So this would make that null and void. I'm no lawyer but from that it seems to come down to whether prior infection is one of the allowed medical exemptions - apparently the ATAGI guidance says yes, but we have the federal government's letter to the AO at the end of November saying no. That's some difference and a major breakdown in communication. However even if his appeal is upheld he should be deported just for being a c**t if it turns out he was positive and not isolating on the 17th in Serbia. It does seem that Tennis Australia is massively at fault for giving out the wrong information. Looking through documentation the prior infection would only give you an exemption only if it was the reason you could not get vaccinated. I’d be very surprised to see him win his appeal. Fully expect him to be getting deported by the time I get up tomorrow morning. The other two using the same exemption as Novak have been deported already. This isn’t new in tennis VISA mix ups occur and Medvedev was not allowed to compete in GB Challengers a few years ago because of a visa mix up. I am pretty sure there was a hold up in his visa for getting into the states this summer for his us open win. But would have to look it up. Anyway Murray will play a qualifier on Tuesday and if he wins he will play #2 seed Basilashvili in round 2. He’s not going to play the Australian Open, all they have to do is just keep cancelling until his first round match is played and his opponent will get a walkover. If he does get to play I think he will finally let go of the desire to be loved and he will fully embrace villain Djokovic. He will not miss a backhand all tournament. His first round match will be the highest viewed match of the year without a doubt. Thankfully it will be all over soon.
