He's having to work his arse off on his own serve, and getting nothing on B-A's.

I know that's classic Andy, but it must be soul destroying

A pre-2017 Murray would have had Bautista Agut on toast most of the time, he’s not that big a server, just does most things reasonably well.

Needs must right now, just don’t make mistakes on his own serve and then if he can at least get to a tie-break and see if he can find something.

Fantastic tournament by Andy. His best major for years.  Hasn’t made the second week but exits having made a real impact. Just doesn’t have the body to do three five set matches in such a short period, and no wonder.

That's the quarter final draw sorted then.

Murray's conqueror Bautista-Augut got dumped out in four by the unseeded Tommy Paul, to set up a rare sight in the majors, a completely unseeded QF against fellow American Ben Shelton. Djokovic is playing ominously well, he humped home crowd hero de Minaur in straight sets, dropping only five games in the process. He's obviously the clear favourite, but of the seven other players left I think the one who could cost him the most problems in Rublev, and he's playing him next.

And that's the semis sorted. I said Rublev could cause Djokovic problems, he did not. 6-1, 6-2, 6-4, easy peasy for Novak and he makes his 46th (!) Grand Slam Semi, where he will play the unseeded American Tommy Paul. He will surely then play the winner of Khachanov and Tsitsipas in the final, where he will be big favourite to equal Nadal's record of 22 grand slams.

Djokovic in Melbourne is almost as dominant as Rafa in Paris

No upsets in the semis then, Djokovic through in straight sets (again). He's made the final only dropping one set in six matches, which was a tie break in round two. He will face Tsitsipas in a repeat of the epic French Open final of 2021, where the Greek went two sets up and still lost. Any chance Stefanos causes an upset here? Probably not no, but I suppose stranger things have happened. Hopefully at least see a competitive final, but I suspect it will be a three set blow out and slam number 22 for the Serb.
