And there’s the upset, I think. Not in the Djokovic game of course, he cruises past Shelton in straight sets.
The Blackfish Medvedev has beaten the Young Wolf Alcaraz in four sets. Is this an upset? Former World Number one and former US open champion beats (soon to be) Former World Number one and former US Open Champion may not sound like much of a shock but I think it is, especially given what happened at Wimbledon.
Medvedev is certainly some lad and he’s a hard court specialist. Can he beat Djokovic for a second time in a US Open final? He’ll fancy that he can.  The US Open crowd love to hate both these guys, wonder if they’ll pick a side in this battle of the b*****ds.

My guess is they will hate Medvedev slightly more due to him being an actual Russian. Americans love hating anything Russian, so a real one in front of them is a dream

Djokovic wins the final in straight sets to chalk up slam number 24, equalling Margaret Courts previously spurious all time record. He had much too much for Medvedev.
Fairly routine slam for him again. He won the QF, the semi and the final in straight sets. He dropped just two sets all tournament, both of them in the 3rd round to another Serbian, Dere.
The numbers are unreal. He’s entered 72 slams and made the final 36 times. Aged 36 he’s just put together one of the greatest tennis seasons of all time. Four slam finals, three slam wins and he will be the year end number one.
The all time record number 25 looks inevitable next year - the next major is his favourite in Melbourne - and 30 is well within reach.

I think we can absolutely call Djokovic the GOAT of men’s tennis now. People will say he vultured a load of slams after Federer and Nadal were finished at the top level, but similarly Fed vultured a load of slams in the weak 2003-2006 period, and Djokovic has a winning record over both of the other guys. For me it’s conclusive.

Pretty good win for GB in the Davis Cup to go through to the finals that will be played in November.  The draw is on Wednesday I think and could be drawn against Serbia or Italy.

For me Novak has been the GOAT since he won all four in a row playing perfect tennis.  As his physicality has declined he has adapted his game more and more.  He’ll still be in a good place to challenge for all four next year too.  Should wipe Court’s 24 from the record books.

I can't believe it, I've seen 3 GOATS, since I saw (what I thought) would be the unassailable GOAT that was Pistol Pete!

Djokovic, is now on his own...  He might be a complete mentalist, but his tennis has spoken for itself.  (He still can't hit an overhead for shyt though) 😀

Had he not been some sort of loonball (vaccine twat, ball-abuser) I think he could well have had another 2 slams!

Oh and before you get the wrong impression.  I really like Djokovic!

Yours
