He was beating top 10 players last year so he can still clearly do it in a one off match, just not consistently like he used to.

Lex
Andy loses his second round tie to Jakub Mensik, an 18 year old Czech kid. Another disappointing tournament.
TheScarf
I caught a bit of it, he played well enough but was just outlasted by a boy literally half his age.
GaryMc93
Put 50p on him at 5-2 in the 3rd when he was 40/1 and cashed out at 6-5 so feel partly responsible for this loss.
btb
Don't often darken this thread but came across this in the Grauniad sports section about Murray's first round win.. Quote “[It’s] not easy, I probably don’t have too long left, but I’ll do as best as I can these last few months,” the 36-year-old added. Murray will face either fifth seed Ugo Humbert or wild card Gaël Monfils in the second round.

In his documentary he and his wife both said he has to retire at Wimbledon. If I was a betting man I'd say it would be this year.

gmca
Well done to Katie Boulter on winning her first WTA 500 event. She has been gradually improving her ranking, and now sits in the top 30. Saw bits of her matches, and she pretty much blew some good players away. Good luck to her going forward.

That's a huge win for her. Hoping she can make deeper runs into Masters events and Slams now. Can't see her winning a slam, but the WTA does throw up some surprise winners.
TheScarf
I watched the highlights of the final, she was excellent. She seems to have a lot more to her game than the likes of Watson or Robson did.
Lex
Murray out in straight sets to Rublev in round two of Indian wells. Did beat Goffin in the first round. Sounds like he’s going to retire after the olympics in the summer. Edited March 9 by Lex
MP_MFC
Murray coming from a set down to beat Berrettini. I hadn’t realised quite how far Berrettini had fallen down the rankings due to injury. He seemed on the verge of breaking into the real top level a few years ago.

MP_MFC
Should fancy the next match too although his opponent did beat Rublev. Tsitsipas has also been knocked out in his section.

TheScarf
I saw most of the match and it felt like I was watching 2012-2016 Andy Murray. His backhand was lethal.
