Christophe Claret Blackjack 21 watch with inbuilt casino games! Saw this featured in a Watchfinder email from a few years back and I was amazed by the non standard features which have been built around the normal watch movement. £200k + price tag but no don't gone up since the article was published. Jacob and Co Astronomia, the above version is a casino themed one although there are others based on the movement design. Again like the Christophe Claret watch the Engineering invloved to make the watch work is phenomenal. You have a Tourbillon movement which turns the four arms which itself has a triple axis Tourbillon which keeps the time. Completely over the top and something which as a watch i feel is completely pointless as it detracts from actually being able to tell the time easily but as a piece of art / engineering its right up there with the best of them. $1million dollar watch. Finally, the Patek Phillipe Grandmaster Chimes. A double sided handcrafted work of art. Up there as one of the best watch manufacturers in the world, there's a video on Youtube showing the craftsmanship that goes into one of these watches so its little wonder that the watch is worth over £2.5 million! On a more realistic budget, when my mortgage is paid off I'll be looking at a Grand Seiko Spring Drive, one of the most accurate automatic watches which performs almost at the same level as a battery powered quartz watch as twice as accurate as the best Rolex Superlative Chronometer. I'd also be looking at getting an Omega Seamaster, probably one of the James Bond limited editions. I'm sure there's others that would take my eye but I can't think of any at the moment. If money was no object, which single timepiece would you splash out on? Mine is the Rolex Cellini Moonphase: The above were my answer the last time the question was asked. But now for a watch I absolutely adore is this one :- The A Lange & Sohne Zietwerk Minute Repeater with the silver and grey dial. I just can't fault it for the simplicity of the dial and the design of the layout. Just absolutely gorgeous. Just need to find the quarter of a million to afford one!

Doctor Manhattan
Just received my anOrdain Fabrik GMT, which will sadly now have to go back in its box until Xmas. (Santa may yet bring me their Plum Fumé Model 1 with the enamel dial one day, but as that waiting list is still measured in years it could be a while yet.)

No , mate , that's why it's a bit strange , the winding is upside down and I don't know how many times I've put it on the wrong way round already

Really comfortable and looked great. Not sure if I’d ever get used to it though. In any case it was an exhibition only model.
Don Diego De la Vega
What's people's experiences with AD's? Did you stick with the first person you met and said they'll put you on the "waitlist"? I posted about my visit to Laings Glasgow in the summer and how i didn't really enjoy the experience with salesperson, still had soup on his lips from lunch and seemed disinterested but still trying to push the you'll have to buy some goods from me and I'll be your Rolex contact for eternity but you'll probably not get one anyway. Now my partner has seen an engagement ring that she wants from Laings which is great because it's a huge difference in price from the one she's wanted from Boodles and would give me some purchase history there. I live equidistant from Glasgow and Edinburgh and would probably like to see if I have a better experience with different person? Will this be detrimental to my chances of getting a watch with (maybe) being on the Glasgow database Edited November 26, 2023 by Don Diego De la Vega

I would bullshit them and say I want a Rolex steel sports, and I'm prepared to spend a lot on jewellery starting with this engagement ring, see what they say.

I've got my name down for either a Submariner or a Datejust, although I've went away from the datejust a little and would probably prefer an Explorer II as an alternative to the submariner. I'm not really the dressed up suit wearing guy and the fluted datejust, as beautiful as it is, might be a little to "bling" for my personality I think i have it in my head that I'm going to go to the Edinburgh shop and get the ring and the wedding bands will follow too, and re register my interest in there for the watches the thought of giving the other guy my business doesn't sit well as i didn't get a good feeling about him. surely im regestired with the company and not just this salesman own wee project
