A good few guesses from me there. Should pick up fractions of a point here and there though.

Two shots in the dark for first original song and first American director.

Round 16: 亚洲电影

A great piece of Chinese philosophy for you:

我ä¸æƒ³æˆä¸ºä¸‹ä¸€ä¸ªæŽå°é¾™ï¼Œæˆ‘想æˆä¸ºç¬¬ä¸€ä¸ªæˆé¾™

Translation:

I didn't want to be the next Bruce Lee, I wanted to be the first Jackie Chan.

- Jackie Chan

This round is dedicated to the wonderful Asian cinema. Ten questions for you to answer:

1. Which Indian actor, star of over 180 Bollywood films, did Francois Truffaut call a “one-man industryâ€? He’s also the answer to the first question in Slumdog Millionaire.

2. Martin Scorsese’s The Departed is a heavily altered remake of which Hong Kong film?

3. Set in the cold countryside of Tibet, which drama film did Scorsese name as his favourite film of the 1990s - even though it was released in 1986?

4. Which Japanese filmmaker directed the masterpieces Late Spring and Tokyo Story?

5. What is the name of the Japanese studio responsible for anime films including Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away?

6. Complete the title of the Thai film which won the Palme D’Or award at Cannes 2010: Uncle Boonmee Who Can ______________________.

7. Who plays Oh Dae-Su, the man kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years, in the 2003 film Oldboy?

8. The 2014 film A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night takes place in a ghost town called Bad City, in which Asian country?

9. In which film does Jet Li play a defence officer known as Nameless?

10. Set in British Imperial Asia and based on the E.M. Forster novel, what was the title of David Lean’s last film?

PM me your answers before midnight on Friday.

Yup I was the idiot that named the two songs instead of the films.  Cost me 1.4 points (Let It Go and Over The Rainbow).  Well my good run is over, I think I know three of those and I have two I can guess at.

Dreadful round for me. I only know three. Can't even really think of guesses for the rest either. I only know the 1st one because the movie was on again the other night and I'm not convinced I've spelled the name correctly!

A fairly straightforward round this week but the difficulty notch being turned up slightly as we slowly approach the run in.

The 3 feature films in which James Dean made credited appearances.

The 2 films starring Laurence Olivier which won the Oscar for Best Picture.

The 1 and only feature film directed by Bill Murray.

Send your answers to me by midnight on Friday.
