jagfox
Out for a wander this morning. Squad were playing 6 asides with 3 teams. Aero and Milne were back in. I never noticed McMillan but I was just passing by. Noticed trialists #6 and #7 were there. Didn't notice #5 or #2.

Pie Of The Month
That's Mullen signed for Derry City and Brownlie for Dundalk.
Uncle Psychosis
That's the away kit launched and as expected its a pink and grey number. https://www.greavessports.com/pages/partick-thistle Not as good as the original but I'll not complain.

The Thistle Archive
A lively start to 2023-24 with an impressive brand new club-record to savour... Kelty Hearts 1 Partick Thistle 2 → NEW CLUB-RECORD FOR BRIAN GRAHAM! ● The opening game of the 149th season of Partick Thistle F.C. ● Thistle are back in action after 30 days, matching the club-record for the shortest close season, which was set back in 1951, the 'Festival of Britain' season. ● Thistle play on the 4th July for the first-time ever. Only 7 calendar dates remain unplayed. ● The amazing Brian Graham becomes the first Jag in history to score in 4 consecutive season openers. The #9 had previously scored in wins over BSC Glasgow (2020), Kelty Hearts (2021) and Alloa Athletic (2022). The previous record (3-in-a-row) was jointly held by Willie Paul (1893), John Wallace (1938), Willie Newall (1943) and Alex Stott (1952). ● Amazingly, Thistle have now scored in ELEVEN consecutive first halves. It's the longest such run since March 1938, when an impressive 14-in-a-row was registered. ● 16-year-old Ché Campbell makes his Thistle debut. ● 16/17-year-old Sallu Turay makes his Thistle debut. ● 22-year-old Euan East (as a trialist) makes his Thistle debut. ● 20-year-old Harrison Nee (as a trialist) makes his Thistle debut and becomes the latest member of our scoring debutants club. ● 23-year-old Wasiri Williams makes his Thistle debut. ● 25-year-old Dominic Morgan-Griffiths (as a trialist) makes his Thistle debut. ● 25-year-old Josh Kerr (as a trialist) makes his Thistle debut. ● 31-year-old Scott Robinson makes his Thistle debut. ● 8 new players as above takes our A-Z beyond the 2,000 threshold. An incredible 2,001 players are known to have featured in a first-team squad since 1876. ● It's now played 4, won 4 for Thistle in the H2H versus Kelty Hearts (albeit the run includes 3 friendlies). ● Thistle win a 5th consecutive season-opener (2019-2023) for the first time since doing so between 1977 and 1981.
Braesoyetts
On 05/07/2023 at 05:14, Fuctifano said: Yeah, think the only player McCall signed in his second spell who had no experience of Scottish football was Akinola, which iirc was a recommendation from Kenny Moyes via his brother. Best trialist appearance I can think of was Juan Ramon Escalas in that bizarre game vs Fulham where they played a full strength team and we drew 1-1, was almost a case of making sure he signed a contract before he left the ground. Although Armand One looked great that day too. Was that when Van Der Sar was playing for Fulham? Pretty sure I was at that one (and I didn't make it to many games due to always working when they were on).
Fuctifano
Don't think he played but that would be one for @The Thistle Archive - the scrapbook section on there appears to be broken at the moment. I'm sure likes of Andy Cole played though
AMMjag
I was 10 in 2004 and that Fulham game is the earliest pre season friendly I can remember. I can mind thinking that 1.) friendlies were fucking brilliant and 2.) if we could match an EPL team, we could probably beat anyone in Scotland and would most likely scoosh the First Division. Took about 3 or 4 weeks for that optimism to be battered out of me. I remember Moritz Volz being class that day.
The Thistle Archive
That section that links to Stuart's site is just there for convenience for the Thistle community, but it's nothing to do with The Thistle Archive. Have asked him what's up with it, but no clue. Might need to knock it on the head for now, which is a shame as he's got lots of good scrapbook material gathered. Your knowledge off the cuff is very good on that Fulham game! starting eleven: Mark Crossley Liam Rosenior Jérôme Bonnissel Ian Pearce Sylvain Legwinski Alain Goma Darren Pratley Billy McKinlay Andy Cole Collins John Luís Boa Morte subs: Edwin van der Sar Dean Leacock Adam Green Zak Knight Moritz Volz Zesh Rehman Carlos Bocanegra Brian McBride Claus Jensen Tomasz Radzinski Mark Pembridge substitutions: Liam Rosenior (Moritz Volz, HT); Andy Cole (Brian McBride, HT); Jérôme Bonnissel (Carlos Bocanegra, 70 mins); Collins John (Tomasz Radzinski, 70 mins); Luís Boa Morte (Mark Pembridge, 70 mins); Sylvain Legwinski (Claus Jensen, 72 mins); Billy McKinlay (Zesh Rehman, 77 mins)

And I’d forgotten about Collins John - the backwards John Collins!

velo army
Strip launch today looked a massive success. Greaves have sold out of the home top completely. A small selection of players modelling it and taking pictures really greased the wheels of that. Jags tops all over town now. The boy Williams looks a well built laddie and modelled the home top handsomely. The buzz was fantastic around the City. The club have played a blinder here.

Mildly ridiculous how we punted a "PR professional" and the clubs PR improved about a hundredfold almost overnight. Whoever is running the show behind the scenes at the minute is doing a great job.

Pie Of The Month
2 goals in 2 games means we need to sign Nee for him to be utterly shite once signed. That's the rules.

Was okay first half tbf. The only trialist I'd be signing would be Josh Kerr, at this stage. Mprgan-Griffiths did not impress much on this occasion Rico Diack came on.
