Rednyella
Archie in interviews is extremely happy to get this kid for 4 months. He is very unlucky not to be playing for Celtic. In fact its kind of sad that an underperforming Celtic team is not willing to give this kid minutes. Shows exactly the issue we have all been discussing in regards young players coming through the ranks. He is supposed to be the best player in Scotland at U20 level. Small in stature yes, but very technical and clinical in front of goal apparently. He also is pretty handy out wide if need to play him there. Doolan, German, Pogba, A.Nesbitt, K.Nesbit and Elliot can also play there if needed. So we in essence have 5 in the forward position till end of season. We now have a decent array of midfield players and our defense has been pretty solid so far. We should be confident with the squad we have through end of season based on the business DUFC, Accies and Killie have done in the window also. Dr Koop
http://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/video/videoid=2322882.html?autoplay=true 5th goal in the video (45 seconds in). The talent is obviously there, if Nesbitt can do anything like that goal for us I'll be very happy. Great singing. A couple of those a week, please.
Contra
Here, anyone know the next time you are on tele? Really wanting to watch Nesbitt play if he is featuring.
Griff Sheridan
He won't get a sniff with Doolan and Pogba playing well.
Fuctifano
Here, anyone know the next time you are on tele? Really wanting to watch Nesbitt play if he is featuring. Friday 19th vs Aberdeen. We're always absolutely fucking honking any time we're on the TV so wouldn't hold out much hope.
Rednyella
Come on Board get Osman signed up pronto! With Bannigan leaving and Stevenson away surely we can give the lad a captains wage increase and get him on a 2-3 year deal!? He's a total difference maker in regards the defensive structure of this team. We are joint #1 in defense in league and Osman plays a massive role along with Cerny and the boys at back. If he's said he wants to stay and a deal is close by media reports we've got to close the deal!

Totally different team when he's playing.
professor challenger
For the first time since we were promoted I don't have the fear about relegation but how many points will we need to guarantee safety. I'm thinking 42 but a lot obviously depends on United and Killy turning things round. Still impressive.
Fuctifano
For the first time since we were promoted I don't have the fear about relegation but how many points will we need to guarantee safety. I'm thinking 42 but a lot obviously depends on United and Killy turning things round. Since the current 38 game with split season started in 1998, the two highest placed totals to finish 11th are: St Mirren 12/13, 41 points with 9 wins Motherwell 01/02, 40 points with 11 wins Obviously there was no play off danger in those years and both Dundee and St Johnstone respectively were miles behind in 12th so there wasn't any pressure, however 42 looks like it should be enough. We have 7 wins so 4 more plus a couple of draws from the last 15 would be plenty. Could be less though, if you go on the basis there's so many teams bunched between 4th and 11th that one of them will have a Hibs 2014 style run to the finish line and take about 4 points from their last 10-12 games. If you're going glass half full, 42 is a decent number to aim for at the split to get top 6 based on the average since 1998.

Grateful for the detail and it seems to confirm my thoughts that 42 points will be sufficient. Think it might be less if United go on a roll and start taking points from those around us.
partick_twinny
I reckon we'll need a higher than normal total to be safe this year. Most seasons at this stage there are two or three teams averaging well below 1.0 points per game but pick up some points towards the end of the season after the split. This season only Dundee United are well below this and the pack avoiding eleventh are very close to one another. We're very well placed now to avoid eleventh but can't get complacent.
Griff Sheridan
I hope we're looking up up UP! Take 3-4 points from the two games we have in hand (to Hamilton and Killie) and somehow grind out one or two against Hearts and Aberdeen, then we could easily leapfrog Dundee and ICT.

Oh yes, we should be looking up the table. We're more than capable of top half, but so are a few others around us. Are our games in hand not against United and St Johnstone?
Griff Sheridan
Aye. I meant we've played two less than Killie and Hamilton, not that they're who our games are against.
cilitbang
I fancy our chances vs Hearts. They have an Edinburgh derby then 3 days later travel up to Ross County then again 3 days later host us, whilst we have had a weeks rest since playing United.
Nightmare
I'd fancy us against Hearts more if they hadn't bent us over twice so far this season.
jagfox
My only hope for the Hearts game is that they've sold their Sow
P45
Keep it under 3, score a goal and it will be an improvement on the last 2 games. A draw would be a great result.
