SetPieceSpecialist Posted December 30, 2016 Share Posted December 30, 2016 In the current market, and with the number of teams who have been watching him, I'd say £500k is a fair asking price for a 21-year old with 2.5 years left on his contract and with the potential that he has. We should try our best to keep him until the end of the season and then I reckon we can get around £500k for him. McInally sometimes plays in centre-back but due to his size he's much better suited for his natural right-back position. McMullin has come on leaps and bounds over the past year or so but still seems panicked at times when on the ball. Syme isn't ready either. His decision making is sometimes poor but he's got some leadership qualities. He could benefit from a loan move in my opinion. I think we got around £250k for Hendry, which was ludicrous so maybe we could get more than we think for Lindsay. Nightmare Posted December 30, 2016 Share Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) The reports at the time of sale just said "a 6 figure sum", but £250k for a guy who played 4 games for us seems like it'd be too high. But maybe it's true, given the money in the English game. It's far too early for Lindsay to go to somewhere like Leeds, I'd say, unless he's happy to sit in the reserves/get sent on loan to League Two clubs for a couple of years. If they came in with half a million and he was going to make 5-10 times his current salary, however, then can't blame either the club or him for wanting to go ahead with it. Losing Lindsay in January would be a big blow but if the money is really good and he decides he wants to go then there's not much to be done. AMMjag Posted December 30, 2016 Share Posted December 30, 2016 He's 21, physically well built, has plenty of scope to improve on an already impressive talent, and probably has one of the best goalscoring records for a player of his position in Europe. Not to mention he's contracted, is our only recognised centre half besides Calamity Dan, and that we're looking at a possible bidding contest between some very wealthy clubs.
