Not that extreme, but any team that clocks how bad his finishing is might not, say, put two men on him instead of one.
Fuctifano
I enjoy articles like that but it doesn't account for the average power of his shots, which despite him being built like a brick shithouse have the power of a 7 year old girl as he sclaffs them, or he tries to chip the keeper and gently passes it back to him. Taylor (who also missed a good few) scored at least a couple of goals by just wellying it as hard as possible and the ball ricocheting in off the keeper, but there's probably a happy medium. FWIW if I had to pick any of our players when through one on one I'd take Erskine.

Actually you'll notice that Erskine's shots when one-on-one aren't typically that powerful either, but even when he sclaffs them they're placed towards the corners and so force the keeper to move to save. For my own part I think it's a toss-up between Erskine and Doolan for who you'd most like set through for a one-on-one. Erskine is more likely to do something special with it, but Doolan's more likely to have a "better" one-on-one chance. Usually because Erskine has played it through to him and done 4 players a riddy in the process. ETA: Actually with Doolan you almost prefer it if there's a defender there as his first touch can absolutely turn them inside out. Griff Sheridan
People need to remember that Azeez is still very young, he's only just turned 22 or 23 I believe. He is still learning and I think he will turn out to be an excellent goal scorer. He can do all the things people loved Taylor for, better than him I'd suggest when it comes to holding players off and turning them, so when he starts to pick his spot or put his foot through the ball, then I think we could have a great player. Maybe what he needs is a striking coach in over the summer to help him along.
Red 'N Yellow
Seen the article earlier, always good to see stats used when analysing players. Agree with Griff, I've said to a few people before that he's still young (just turned 23) and he makes a good contribution on the park, seems to have most of the attributes of a good striker. I reckon a mix of inexperience and low confidence though means his finishing is dodgy. He's still developing and I reckon he'll come good. Nizzy
Same or similar age as Doolan when he signed eight years ago to this very day and look what he's gone on to achieve. Folk have been too quick to write Azeez off.

Folk have been too quick to write Azeez off. I don't think Doolan would have been even close to ready for Premier League football 8 years ago. Seven years ago, he'd been punted out to Clyde in the fourth tier for game-time. If we're blunt, he probably wasn't quite top-tier quality until the promotion season (when he bagged 15), even though he scored a decent number of goals the two years before (18 then 13 in all competitions). In that respect, Azeez clearly has time on his side, though I would say Doolan came to the professional game quite late. What Azeez needs is game-time at a level where he can build-up his skills and confidence. I hope to be proved wrong, but I don't think that level for him is the top-tier of Scottish Football (yet). My issue with the new plethora of analytics guys focusing on Scottish football is where they source their information from, largely the BBC (PA?) live text feeds I believe? Feeds that often bear little resemblance to what has happened in a match. Opta it is not. That's a more general point though as the article on Azeez was a decent read. I've seen him twice live and in Perth he reminded me of Gregory Tade, the way he could bully, or certainly outjump, defenders but also run in behind them. When Tade did start finding the net more regularly, he came a half-million pound player.
Cerberus
Once he gets confidence and some composure to not hit it straight at the goalkeeper he'll be fine. Compared him to Rooney is harsh. How many of Rooney's 6 goals have come from penalties?

I agree on that, but I think there must be some kind of better source that's going about if not made public, e.g. in the Azeez article how did they get the exact shot locations / directions from the rickety BBC "shot from inside the box (left)" type commentary you refer to plus some of the other ones e.g. the SPFL Radar guy just wouldn't be available with that info. Of course, they could be making it all up...
GrahamJags
I have mentioned this before, but I think it might be a good idea to play Azeez out wide. Whenever he pulls out wide, he's very good at beating defenders and has got a far better cross on him than the likes of Amoo. He does everything right until he has to shoot, so I would definitely try him out there. Using the friendly and/or the Formartine game would be as good a time as any to try it out as well. I quite like Lawless when he's played in the middle of the attacking three, so I would be inclined to at least attempt something along the lines of Azeez - Lawless/Edwards - Erskine with Doolan in front of them.

Suspect that account is someone who is tied to or does work for a club or clubs.
jagfox
Thistle linked with Joe Partington of Eastleigh Borough.
colliedug
Eastleigh fans by the sound it love him, he's their captain this season and a natural leader on the park, can also play in midfield
RedAndYellow
I personally think it is a terrible comparison between Azeez and Rooney as Azeez is physically much more superior and can hold the ball up better, create chances better but just can't finish. Where as Rooney who I think is incredibly overrated by some, scores mainly tap ins and penalties. Azeez has time on his side and hopefully can become a great goal scorer. I would also like to see Archie experiment and maybe try Ade on the wing so he can create the chances and put it on a plate for Doolan who has one of the best goal scoring abilities and touches in the league to finish.
Fuctifano
Mikael Mandron plays for Eastleigh, might be a DOUBLE SWOOP. That concludes my mention of Mikael Mandron for this transfer window.

Mediocre Pundit
It mentions that he's a right back. Wouldn't have thought that was a position we needed to strengthen unless Dumbuya will be out longer than expected.

I'd guess if we do have any interest in him, it would be on a pre-contract for next season and with Ziggy away in the summer we'll need someone to cover right back. He also appears to be able to play at centre back so presumably he's a like for like for Ziggy.
