100% - works for both parties and that's about all that could and should be said about it. Well played to Kelly and the club.

Kelly will still be on his Motherwell wages + a wee bonus perhaps (e.g. a cut of the uefa fee) to make up any shortfall for  signing for his new club later than planned where he will be on at least double the wages.

Aye.

I think the fact that it seems to be being framed by various media outlets as him signing a "short-term" deal which implies it's a new, fresh contract is causing folk looking from the outside in to see it as something more meaningful than it is when in reality the likelihood is that the expiry date of his existing Motherwell contract has been amended from 31st May to 30th June sometime in the last 6 months or so.

Which is broadly what happened with Gallagher albeit that was a quid pro quo to get the gun from his head and get us to drop the extra year he'd triggered.

Seeing a few generic EFL jobber teams are trying to sign Shaun Hutchinson... come on Motherwelll we can't be having that happen to our future captain. (Hoping to harness the power of The Thread here)

Don't think the wages are enough at Motherwell on probably his last big pay day. Family ties here, are a massive factor though , but our pay structure has limits.

But..... Bring back The Hutch!

Don't know if it was mentioned at the time or if everyone was focusing on the survey and month by month season reviews but the club posted this last week and apparently we're now ahead of sales at the same point last year (feels worth mentioning as when Caldwell gave his update at season end his indication was that we were slightly behind but expected to see a pick up).

Under £2m, over 6 years, to become majority owner of the club seems absolutely mental.

It's amazing how months of negotiations, speculation and work cc an be summed up by "lol no".

Even if you were willing to consider giving up fan ownership, and the risks that brings, you're surely not going to be tempted by this. It's an appalling offer.

It's a shame we've wasted so much time on it but in another month we can hopefully put it behind us and move on.

Well get that much when the Championship clubs go mad for Bair this summer anyway!

Or atleast Bair and Miller together.

I can't believe anyone would take this kind of deal seriously.

It's already up.

"We do not believe it is remotely acceptable that the incoming investors should receive three of eight seats on the Executive Board, plus the Chairmanship, and a casting vote in the result of a stalemate from day one."

Aye, get that straight in the fucking sea!

Hard no - I was open minded but for <2m over that period of time and the loss of fan ownership, it's not even worth considering further - it's derisory in fact.

Genuinely disgraceful from Jim McMahon.  Like, fucking abhorrent stuff.  He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Fir Park again for trying to sell the jerseys in this way.

I've no issues with seeking outside investment, but months go by for this?  A shambles.

I'm absolutely astounded this got as far as it has with that level of offer. Months of negotiations for that to be presented as the offer!? A total shambles.

Good statement from the Society though.
