Here's Robinson's signings to date (it's a long list - I've ommitted guys like Broque Watson and Neil McLaughlin we were Craigan signings for the Reserves, it'd debatable whether Harry Robinson should be in there either but he made a couple of first team appearances so let's keep him in):

17/18
Alex Fisher, Gael Bigirimana, Craig Tanner, Trevor Carson, Andy Rose, Russell Griffiths, Charles Dunne, Cedric Kipre, George Newell, Ellis Plummer, Rohan Ferguson, Deimantas Petravičius, Liam Grimshaw, Gennadios Xenodochof, Curtis Main, Peter Hartley (loan)/(permanent), Nadir Ciftci (loan), Tom Aldred (loan) x 2, Stephen Hendrie (loan)

Total = 19

18/19
Mark Gillespie, Liam Donnelly, Danny Johnson, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, Alex Rodriguez-Gorrin, Christian Mbulu, Conor Sammon (loan), Ross McCormack (loan), Gboly Ariyibi (loan)

Total = 9

19/20
Declan Gallagher, Liam Polworth, Jake Carroll, Casper Sloth, Jermaine Hylton, Christopher Long, Sherwin Seedorf, Christian Ilic, Christy Manzinga, Ross MacIver, Bevis Mugabi, Tony Watt, Harry Robinson, Devante Cole (loan)/permanent, Mark O'Hara (loan/permanent), Mikael Ndjoli (loan), Rolando Aarons (loan)

Total = 17

20/21
Ricki Lamie, Jordan White, Nathan McGinley, Scott Fox, Stephen O'Donnell, Aaron Chapman, Jordan Archer, Jake Hastie (loan), Callum Lang (loan), Robbie Crawford (loan)

Total = 10

So all in we've signed 55 different players over 3.5 seasons.

Forgot all about Dean. Was impressed in League cup/pre season in parts. Hopefully he can kick on if he's now free of injury.

can't say I know anything at all about Tierney on paper but the comments underneath the tweets are quite encouraging. Hopefully could have a similar impact to Jamie Mcgrath at St mirren.

speaking of goal scoring midfielders, I notice Turnbull is sitting on a goal or assist every other game for Celtic, 27 contributions in 55 games.

It's fair to say that's something that we don't really have in our midfield options at the moment?

Not much in the way of footage of him but I did find this one game where he ‘assisted’ four goals.

Level noted and all that but you can certainly see why we’d be interested. Positive, driving forward with the ball, incisive passing etc. As mentioned, basically everything our midfield lacks.

It does feel like we missed out on a piece of the jigsaw this summer. Whether that was Gotts or someone else who knows but the midfield area definitely feels incomplete.

Difficult to do an entire rebuild in one window though and we seemed to do pretty good overall. But I think everyone felt midfield would be the area we’d look to improve on in January.

To re-up that point, by my count this is the contract situation:

January 22 - Parker

Summer 22 - Fox, Morrison, Lamie, Mugabi, O'Connor, McGinley, Grimshaw, Maguire, O'Hara, Crawford, Donnelly, Amaluzor, Roberts (loan expires), Watt

Roberts is only on loan until January I think. Which probably suits us if he hasn't made much of an impact by then.

That's right, I forgot about that. I just assumed it was until the end of the season. Edited my post to correct.

From what I know he seems to have almost exclusively played as the "10" in a 4-2-3-1 shape, sometimes so advanced hes virtually playing up front. Not one whos used in CM in a 4 man midfield unless its a hail mary move

How do you know this?

"Do you go to Motherwell games expecting to win?"

A bold question.

I said "No" to that one (because I usually don't), but now I feel like I've just ok'd a budget cut for next season...

Oh aye? To link back to the "Brand Perception survey" this idea of who/what influences us, how we view ourselves as a club and the fact that we're out there engaging about this specific sort of stuff is interesting to me.

I’ve cancelled out your answer so you can rest easy.  My cup is half full but I am resilient to disappointment

Can we as a club run for government? We'd piss it imo.

Graham Alexander insists Motherwell will continue to cast the net wide for hidden talent after confirming the capture of “exciting” Bohemians midfielder Ross Tierney.

The 20-year-old is set to move to Fir Park at the end of the League of Ireland season in December after agreeing a three-year deal.

The LoI has been a tried and tested talent well in recent years with St Mirren's capture of Jamie McGrath and Conor McCarthy and Hearts' signing Aaron McAneff among the best imports from the Emerald Isle.

And after a breakthrough campaign with Bohs - which saw Tierney make four appearances in the Europa Conference League - Alexander is confident he’s uncovered the next Irish star.

Well signed Finland international defender Juhani Ojala from Danish club Vejle and fellow stopper Sondre Siolholm Johansen from Norwegian minnows Mjondalen in the summer.

And Alexander said: “Ross is a player we tried to sign in the summer, even to the end of the window.

“We had an agreement with Bohemians that we would allow him to finish the season over in Ireland.

“He is an exciting young player who will come in and enhance our firepower and our quality.

“It’s been a long one, and it’s still not over the line as he still isn’t here yet.

“But we are delighted that he is coming to join us.

“He’s an attacking midfielder who can play in the front three, he creates opportunities and can score. He works his socks off and he is still only 20.

“After speaking to him quite a bit he was dead keen on the opportunity of coming to play for us so we are delighted.

“There’s good players all over the world. We found Sol and Juhani - one in their prime and and another pre-prime.

"We have built a scouting department and network but we know where we are in the food chain - not at the top.

“So we have to look at other markets and we are just looking for good players. We don’t care where they come from or what their background is.

“If they are good players and motivated about coming to Motherwell we are happy to bring them in.

“We think Ross will be a right good addition.”

McGinley triple whammy there, run into trouble, dive to tip ball with hand and conceded foul, allow ChaCha to do whatever he did to put it I got he back of the net.

if that’s not a demotion then I don’t know what is.

This game was a top 6, 6-pointer and I fear weak elements in our team that we’ve all seen are to blame.
