Maybe do that tonight if you're there or know someone who is? The system isn't Davor's fault, nor is the role he's being asked to play, or the options he has to pass to around him.

Claudia Gentile
33 minutes ago, 'WellDel said: BBC Scotland website reporting it now too. As others say though, shite state of affairs for Thistle that the officials won't be held to account in the same way that a team would for such an error, but a replay will not happen. Token apology and move on, it's the SFA way. More lazy journalism. I think STV has similar click-bait. I just hope the SFA sortout their procedures and train their officials to prevent any further incidents. I'll not hold my breath though. I understand Doolan being angry as he was prevented from making his desired change but you cannot prove that change would have made any difference whatsoever to the result.
welldaft
I have not been Davor's biggest fan but I actually thought he was the best midfielder by some distance yesterday. Not hard maybe. I think the issue is that when we lack any creativity in midfield it is easy to be critical. He has bundles of energy and is quite a good disruptor. That is perfectly fine when others can step up like Miller and say Sam Nicholson. A big issue this League cup campaign is linking midfield and the forwards. It is slow and pedestrian and only when it has been worked down the wings has it yielded results bar maybe the Paton set up and Moses goal v Clyde. I wonder if anyone on here was at the Kettlewell "Meet the Manager" evening tonight ? I would love to know how he addressed the team selection / performance yesterday and squad status ahead of the weekend. Are we still looking to add one or two more or is that it etc etc
camer0n_mcd
I'm a bit 'meh' on Davor, do I think we could do better? Yes. Do I think he's the worst we could do? Absolutely not. I take both points that he wins the ball back a lot, in fact he's probably the best at it out of our current midfield (that's hardly difficult) but I'd be lying if I didn't say that his lack of technical ability didn't drive me up mad at times and I do think that in possession he holds us back.

joewarkfanclub
Re Davor. I quite like him. He has lots of energy and does a lot of the dirty work that goes un-noticed or is under valued / appreciated. I think if we played a back 4 and his job was to just sit and shield the centre backs and break up play, he would look a lot better as we would have room for an extra midfielder or forward that would give him more options and allow us to be more creative. There is still room for him in this system, but without the dynamic wing backs we really are toothless. Hopefully once Kaleta / Seddon are up to speed and we get Stama into the team we will look like a more effective unit. Not to mention any of our injured midfielders.

Considering we scored the third most goals last season that's some take. Wow.

Was it confirmed if there would be anyway for those that missed it to catch up on it. I remember going to one with McCall in Jack Daniels a few years ago and really enjoyed the insight into his ideas. I believe it was recorded but no idea if it will be made available. Apologies in advance for this as it has ended up a longer summary than intended… Interesting points I took from it was that Caldwell is very much in the driving seat behind the scenes. The exec board actually do very little and it’s him and the finance director who run the club but he wants to get the well society more involved. Just echoed his previous statements about fan ownership and community being our biggest asset and we need to make more of it. We have c9k people on our database who buy tickets semi regularly but don’t have season tickets. If we can attract 10/20% of them back full time it would be massive. The chances of us leaving for park any time soon are slim to nil. Would cost far too much money and the land isn’t worth as much as you’d think. He was able to draw comparisons of what happened with St Mirren. Safeguarding is a thing the club and Scottish football are behind the curve on but are now having to take seriously. Seems to be alluding to potential liabilities of minors hurting themselves etc without anyone in charge of them, he took the decision to make it 14 year olds. Some clubs are 12 or 13 and the SFA for Hampden is 16. Says it is something that has happened in England for a while. They hope to start giving out free tickets to youth groups, schools etc again and are working on making this work and utilising the spaces around the ground more. Much work being done to get a lift into the Cooper. On the valuation, Caldwell had nothing to do with it, was done before he arrived but said that ultimately the club is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and he had a similar experience at Shrewsbury where they found no one meeting the valuation of what they had in mind when they had more money in the bank than we do From the manager, a lot of echoing his post match yesterday. Would have preferred to have had a more positive showing but players know his thoughts and work already been done to address the problems. He backs himself over his record and his tactics and system. Others are free to disagree. Points out we were third top scoring team last year and that our problem was the other end and that if people want to watch wingers that’s fine but he came in to a team that played wingers and were as good as relegated so he has implemented a system to get success in the league. Players these days need to buy into a style of play and have full confidence and knowledge of what to do at all times and he won’t chop and change as could cause confusion was what I took from that. He feels that he does have a plan B and C and pointed to changing the shape 3 times yesterday to try and make it work. He’s proud of his record of improving players and has brought on over €3 million since he arrived and this is what he sells to players he wants to bring in. Confirmed Bair had two teams he had the choice of and took his counsel on what he should do and that he has a great relationship with both him and van veen from their time together. Seemed particularly proud of getting a return from Bair, everyone at the club were well aware of the criticism but he felt that he was misused and not given a fair chance at St J and both club and player worked their arses off to get to where he was - a hearts game last year where he got subbed at half time was the crossroads and he obviously went the right way. A lot about the pathway and academy players we have and are utilising, feels Wilson and wells in particular have shown a lot more this year than last but key to that continuing is getting them the right loans at the right time. Sounds like Stirling was a really bad experience last year so we’ve now got an analyst essentially being a loans manager and once we have our squad fit, the young boys will go out on loan to get experience of playing rather than being on the bench. All in all a worthwhile couple of hours and a massive well done to the society for putting it on and for the manager and CEO for taking the time and some difficult questions on the chin. And again to Graeme for keeping things on track as much as possible when it got a bit heated and awkward. camer0n_mcd
I mean that's a pretty wild shout, it's not even in the top 3 worst performances we've had under Kettlewell, never mind in 80 odd years.
