Smith to win in rounds 4-6 is 4/5. All over it.

Smith dished out a beating there.

That was indeed an absolute beating. Should have been stopped earlier in the round than it was, Smith was landing clean whenever he wanted, quite poor from the ref and corner, IMO.

Wish I’d put more than twenty on it.

Smith was actually stopping his flurries of punches and looking over at the ref, as if to ask the question himself. Ref definitely let the fight go on too long.

I seen the IFL interview with Smith post match and he had commented to the ref that Eggington couldn't see. I think they are pretty good mates away from the ring and he didn't want to give him a permanent injury. A complete mismatch I turned off after a few rounds but that was expected. Eggington is just a smaller Dave Allen his only defence is his face and that ain't going to end well.

The rest of the card was very enjoyable. Davies Jnr and Hughes was a quality wee scrap, the controversy with Kash Ali and then by far and away the most enjoyable fight of the year with Fowler and Fitzgerald.

Eggington's style worked against Frankie Gavin and Paulie Mag because neither of the two of them could punch their way out of a paper bag.

Fighting with that style at 154 against quality fighters is going to see him seriously hurt. He's done well out of his limited ability, time to call it quits.

Looking on Paddy Power they have Josh Taylor as 1/6 against Barancyk and 1/18 against Ricky Burns. Busy night for him.

I'd still expect him to win both fairly comfortably, I'll be very disappointed if he needs to engage more than 2nd gear to beat Burns easily.

Taylor has been in camp since start of January. Should be in fantastic condition for it. Burns has officially pulled out of the 1st June AJ card so must be close to being announced. Burns knocked out Cardle pretty spectacularly but we know how easy those Cardle boys go down!
