One day it will happen. I have no idea why boxing is allowing itself to be turned into a joke sport even allowing for the money involved, but the kind of attention these particular fights are getting is from the exact type of people who will wage social media war on the sport when it eventually does go wrong.

And we can all look and see "scripted pish" but whats happening is these people with crossover appeal to young kids etc are bringing young kids to tune into "boxing" and what they are actually seeing is not the sport of boxing, the sweet science, but their YouTube idols engaging in wild brawls, way OTT "trash talk" etc etc. Its a pile of shite and it needs to f**k off.

Boxing has always been a bit of a joke though.

Yes, it's currently worse by some margin than anything that's gone before IMO

People absolutely lap up the fake build up and then act shocked when the fights involving these bums are horrendous hugging matches with some guys throwing single figure punches over 6 rounds. These fannys aren’t even amateur level boxers (or MMA fighters for that matter) and they are making an absolute mint out of it. It must leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouths of good professional fighters who train day in, day out and wont make anything like what these turds are banking for these daft events.

Yep, hence why it's drastically different to someone like Muhammad Ali doing a bit of cash work on the side.

Plenty boxers will want to be on a Logan Paul undercard.

It was the same with CM Punk in the UFC.

If last night’s undercard is anything to go by they are obviously choosing fellow bums who aren’t actually fighters. I don’t recognise a single name and they all sound like characters from the wrestling. They don’t want professional fighters on the undercard because it makes them look even worse.

Boxing has long been a joke where the top fighters in each weight class do everything in their power to avoid actually fighting each other.

Adding these clowns into the mix just sends boxing further down the shiter.

Long gone are the days of the best fighters fighting each other and selling the most PPVs. These days it's total mis-matched fights or Youtube arseholes who cannot even throw a punch.

A total embarrassment to the sport.

A decent professional boxer really needs to take one for the team and fight one of these guys, just play along with all their bullshit and then spark them out first round. All the fights seem to go the distance so that nobody looks too bad and they can all say they were robbed by the judges and then justify fighting again

I mean... They're not gone tho. We have had some fantastic tonight's this year. We just had Crawford v Spence which looked like it was good, for example. We got Tank v Garcia, Haney v Loma, Taylor v Lopez, Inoue v Fulton to name a few highlights at the top level.

It doesn't happen enough but we can't say it doesn't happen.

This utter debacle we see can't be in any way grouped in with professional boxing, but that's what the side effects will damage most.

Azeez v Buatsi being off tonight is a shame. Lawal v Chamberlain headlining I’m keen to see but if I’d had tickets, arranged travel etc only to be told I can claim a refund but also need to now buy a new ticket for Lawal v Chamberlain I’d be fairly fucked off. Hennessy jr v Laws looks intriguing as well. Both with ‘fairly’ padded records though…

Taylor oot his skull again on Twitter giving Catterall a bit. I'm still a big fan of him as a boxer but he continues to across as an absolute balloon. Pretty sure this fight will happen next at a catch weight.

Makes logical sense with Haney/Prograis winner likely to fight Ryan Garcia afterwards.

Although he’s probably always been like that, his attitude toward his opponent, in the run up to the Prograis fight, really was objectionable. Whilst a top class fighter, he really is an arsehole. Why he’s opening kebab shops, instead of having major sponsors falling over themselves to back him.

The only fight that Taylor or Caterall have is each other now. Taylor's stock is at it's lowest off his last two fights and Caterall is just dull as f**k in and out the ring.

The Linares that fought Loma a few years back, and even the one who fought Haney would have dispatched Caterall imo. Too many miles on the clock and it was a terrible match up.

Enjoyed the Gilley v Green fight from York Hall, flicking between Caterall and Chamberlain fight, neither seemed particularly good

Agree with this completely. For what he has achieved in boxing he should be an absolute superstar in this country but the boy is a fucking balloon.

He was a stable mate of Frampton for years and appears to have learnt f**k all from it. Frampton as far as I'm aware has always conducted himself well and comes across well. Probably made decent money out of his career and continues to do so because he is a fairly decent pundit.

Once Taylors career is done he is will disappear into obscurity because he is an unlikable arsehole.

If none of you follow Taylor on social media you might think people are exaggerating- it isn’t an exaggeration, he’s an utter idiot. Posting WEF coming to take muh steaks stuff, mouthing off about Catteral, who clearly beat him. He’s probably the best Scottish boxer in the modern era, certainly since Buchanan, but he is holing himself below the water line.

anyone watching the Fury-Ngannou fight this weekend? I’m not going to bother.

All bang on the money about Taylor, which is actually really unfortunate tbh! Love the boxer, that he was when he exploded on to the scene but his opinions are very hard to agree with, at best…

Will swerve the exhibition tonight. Bakole did not look anywhere near ideal on the scales, 300lbs?! Could turn in to a very tough fight if Takam still has the durability he usually shows.
