We need to be able, in terms of players, multiple different set ups. If we end up better with a back 4 this season we need to have the players to do so.

Give them a chance within 12 yards with no time to think and theyll hit the target. Let them go clean through with plenty of time to think, and theyll overthink it and fluff it most times.
PauloPerth
Who we comparing him to? Out of recent wide players, O'Halloran has a better goalscoring record than Swanson, Wotherspoon and Drey Wright. Only Kennedy's is better. Compared to strikers, his record is better than Kane, Cummins, Tony Watt, and several other recent players we've had, but poorer than May, Maclean and Hendry's. Goalscoring records of recent Saints players (figures from wiki): Wide players: Matt Kennedy 9 goals in 54 games. 0.167 goals per game. Michael O'Halloran 20 goals in 126 games. 0.159 goals per game. Danny Swanson 13 goals in 85 games. 0.153 goals per game. David Wotherspoon 20 goals in 226 games. 0.089 goals per game. Drey Wright 1 goal in 36 games. 0.023 goals per game. Strikers: Stevie May 29 goals in 86 games. 0.337 goals per game. Steven Maclean 47 goals in 171 games. 0.275 goals per game. Callum Hendry 9 goals in 36 games. 0.250 goals per game. Graham Cummins 14 goals in 77 games. 0.182 goals per game. Chris Kane 17 goals in 135 games. 0.126 goals per game. Tony Watt 3 goals in 29 games. 0.103 goals per game. Others: Murray Davidson 32 goals in 296 games. 0.108 goals per game. Liam Craig 50 goals in 340 games. 0.147 goals per game. (includes goals in lower league as well).

As Paulo very eloquently points out, MOH is better. Could you see Chris scoring say, that goal at Hibs? Not a chance.
The Real Saints
I think O'Halloran's finishing has improved significantly over the years. It still isn't particularly notable, albeit a big improvement on what it used to be. His end product was somewhat lacking in the early days. His pace was fantastic but he lacked a footballing brain. Nowadays I'd say that he is a more intelligent player but tends to make less of those pacey, direct runs which were his main threat during previous spells. He seems to prefer cutting inside.
Mr Positive, sometimes.
When reading the thoughts on MOH finishing and first thought since his return he's barely scored... 3 goals maybe. Which isn't what anyone would describe is good so would give the indication that the finishing can't be seen as decent but I also cant think coming away from games over the recent seasons that he's missed chances either?

He has, he's been clean through a couple of times and the keeper has saved. They were on target is about the only plus you can take from that.
Mr Positive, sometimes.
You know how Dundee fans like telling everyone how they're a big club? Ross Callahan turned them down to Sign for Accies. Good lad. Edited June 29, 2020 by Mr Positive, sometimes.
Cptn Hooch
We seem to be tracking George Williams who has previously been on loan to you guys. What kind of player is he and is he any good?

I thought he at times played quite well for Saints. Until the chance came to score and he couldn't to save himself!! RandomGuy.
I liked Williams. Gave a lot of effort, was never afraid to try things on the ball and created a lot. It would pointless to let Wright leave and replace him with Williams though, unless Williams wage will be well below what Wright wanted.

He can play anywhere across the front 3, as a number 10 and as a second striker. As we’re looking at a smaller squad, versatility is going to be key, having specialist players probably isn’t going to be of benefit. I’d only worry about his previous injuries and his productively. However he seems to have gotten slightly better at FGR. He also appeared to love Perthshire so that’s a positive if we need to tempt him ahead of Livi On that note, Steven Lawless still doesn’t have a club....
Radford
No surprise to see the all fur coat brigade all over another unproductive fancy Dan. Criticising a good player like Michael O'Halloran whilst excited about a guy who should be doing keep-ups at half-time.

More seriously, this is a decent point. The manager is talking about two or three signings. You'd say one has to be a CM with Butcher and Holt away and Craig on the fringes, so a guy like Williams then comes into play for an attacking/wide midfield role. The money he will be after will rival what Drey Wright was on. We've just released 2 better attacking players than Williams. Now more than ever is the time to pass on overpriced players who flatter to deceive thanks.
Jamie_B
I’m sure it was Radford who, while he was with us, described Williams as a “nearly” player. He got involved and regularly nearly produced a goal/assist. But it never quite came off. Wouldn't get in my team ahead of either MOH or Wotherspoon off either side.
