Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

#GingerPrince.

£75k combined for Mackay, Craig and Davidson. Some business.

Suppose it's £87k as the article reckons we paid £12k upon promotion.

What a club we are when we can leave a £6000 a month player in the stand every week. We are some fucking club lads. SOME FUCKING CLUB.

That Scougalls apparent wage? Not sure that would make him a "six figure" earner?

It was bait for you to actually come back with the real wage. I haven't got a clue what he's on tbh. Just wish he was on the pitch.

I'll ask him next date night.

Dundee fans have more legends that played their football in Perth than have played their football at Dens recently, show some respect for the team that gave you your best day in the last 40 years you ungrateful c**t.

I agree. True legends are players who win real major trophies like league titles.

After 10 games we are probably exactly where we would expect to be.

Four wins out of four and only 1 goal conceded against the bottom four clubs is good going. And 4 defeats, at Killie, Rangers and Hearts and at home to Celtic, are not completely unpredictable. Throw in decent home draws with Hibs and Aberdeen to complete the first 10 results. Won 4 drawn 2 lost 4.

So a draw at Livingston would be a respectable result, giving us W4 D3 L4 after the first round of fixtures. A win would be excellent at a team unbeaten at home this season.

Currently on 14 points, here's a look at our first 10 match and final points tallies over the past few seasons:

2017-18   14 points. Finished 8th on 46 pts.

this was after 3 wins and 2 draws in our first 5 matches. Only 1 point from the next 3 games after the first 10.

2016-17   17 points. Finished 4th on 58 pts.

only 2 points from the next 4 matches after the first 10.

2015-16   14 points. Finished 4th on 56 pts.

then went on a run of 5 wins, 1 draw 1 defeat before a collapse of 1 win in 11.

2014-15    9 points.  Finished 4th on 57 pts.

3 wins and 2 defeats in opening 5 games were followed by 5 straight defeats. Following that poor opening 10 matches, a run of 6 wins and 2 draws in the next 8 games.

2013-14   12 points.  Finished 6th on 53 pts.

after the opening 10 matches, we won 3 in a row then a customary winter run of 1 win in 7.

So whilst we are in a very reasonable position, and could potentially kick on to a top six place, the big difference this season is such a poor points return for the bottom four clubs so far. It is likely the points totals in the top six places are going to be high this season if everyone continues to ragdoll the bottom four the way they have so far.
